    Axios reported, citing two informed sources, that Steve Wietkoff, the U.S. Special Representative, and Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, are scheduled to meet in Istanbul on Friday to discuss the possibility of reaching a nuclear agreement. Axios emphasized that the planning of this meeting is the result of diplomatic efforts by Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar, adding that this will be the first meeting between American and Iranian officials since the failure of negotiations and the 12-day war last June. Another source told Axios that holding the meeting on Friday is the "best scenario," but nothing is certain until the meeting takes place.
    @VahidOOnLine
    Axios reported, citing an Israeli official, that Steve Wietkoff is set to travel to Israel on Monday and meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday. According to this official, the meeting is being held at Netanyahu's request. The report also states that Wietkoff will meet with Aviv Kochavi, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army. Axios added that Wietkoff will then travel to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday and Thursday to participate in trilateral peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, and afterward, he will head to Turkey for discussions with Abbas Araghchi.
    @VahidOOnLine

    Prior to the above news:
    A senior Iranian official and a Western diplomat told Reuters that Steve Wietkoff and Abbas Araghchi may meet in Turkey in the coming days. Some sources have suggested that given Araghchi's recent trip to Turkey and Ankara's efforts to host negotiations, consultations may take place in Turkey, and there is even speculation about the possible presence of Hakan Fidan, the Turkish Foreign Minister, in these discussions.

    Tasnim News Agency reported on Monday that Ali Bagheri Kani, the Deputy Foreign Policy Chief of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that "Iranian officials have no intention of transferring enriched nuclear materials to any country, and the negotiations are not centered around such an issue."

    This comes as hours earlier, Reuters quoted an unnamed Iranian official as saying: "Diplomacy is ongoing. Iran says there should be no preconditions for resuming negotiations and is ready to show flexibility on uranium enrichment, including delivering 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium and accepting zero enrichment within a consortium arrangement as a solution."

    The news agencies Fars and Tasnim, close to the Revolutionary Guards, which had earlier reported the possibility of negotiations between Iran and the U.S. with the presence of "senior officials from both countries in the coming days," have removed this report from their outlets. Tasnim reported on Monday, February 1, citing this source, that "so far, the exact location and time of this meeting have not been finalized, and these negotiations will likely be at the level of" Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, and Steve Wietkoff, the U.S. Special Representative. Fars reported that President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued the "order" to begin negotiations, while in Tasnim's report, the authority issuing the order to start negotiations was identified as the "Supreme National Security Council."
    @VahidHeadline
    Russia has once again expressed readiness to store Iran's enriched uranium reserves. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, regarding negotiations with Tehran and Washington about storing Iran's enriched uranium in Russia, said: "This issue has been on the agenda for a long time." Mr. Peskov added that Russia continues to contact all parties and is making every effort to reduce tensions. Journalists today asked the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson about the discussion of this issue during the visit of the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council to Moscow. Ismail Baqaei responded that "this speculation had been raised before... Regarding the discussion of enriched materials, this is one of the topics that should be determined in a negotiation. Before the negotiation takes place, we do not announce the result in advance. The result is obtained within the framework and process of negotiation, not predetermined before entering the negotiation process."

Axios reported this news citing "four sources present at the private meeting" on Friday in Washington. Ismail Baqai said: "We have seen these media reports. And the answer options to this question were "One: side-by-side refrigerator, two: ice cream maker, three: supermarket freezer, and four: I'm an ice seller, don't disrupt my business."

    The release of this segment of the program sparked a lot of criticism on social media, and even users close to the government criticized it.
    The Islamic Republic's state media, IRIB, stated that Sadegh Yazdani, the director of the Ofogh network, was dismissed due to "offensive" remarks about the victims of the events in December.

    The public relations department of IRIB said that Sadegh Yazdani was dismissed following the airing of a program from the Ofogh network with content "offensive to the martyrs and victims of the December incidents" and "negligence in managing the content of the Khat-Khati program," and the broadcast of this program has also been halted.

    At the same time, it has been reported that Saeed Maghiseh has been appointed as the caretaker of this network by Mohsen Boromahani, the deputy of the television.

    🔸The leader of the Islamic Republic, coinciding with the beginning of the "Fajr Decade" on the eve of the anniversary of the February 1979 Revolution, addressed a group of his supporters, stating: "Americans should know that if they start a war, this time it will be a regional war." According to Iranian news agencies, he added: "We are not the initiators and do not want to attack any country, but the Iranian nation will strike hard against anyone who attacks and harasses." According to state television, Ali Khamenei said: "The talk of war and discussions about planes and ships is not new," and "in the past, Americans have repeatedly threatened in their statements, saying all options are on the table, including the option of war." The leader of the Islamic Republic, referring to Donald Trump, the President of the United States, added: "Now this gentleman also constantly claims we brought a fleet, and... the Iranian nation should not be frightened by such things; the people of Iran are not influenced by these threats." He further described the protests in December in Iran as a "sedition," stating that "the recent sedition was similar to a coup, which was, of course, suppressed." The leader explained his description by saying, "They attacked centers that govern the country. This was similar to a coup."

    🔸Abbas Araghchi told CNN that in the event of war, Iran is prepared, and the scope of the conflict may extend beyond borders. He added that the missile program is non-negotiable and that discussions should focus solely on the issue of nuclear weapons. Araghchi stated, "We have lost our trust in the U.S. as a negotiating partner." The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic added, "I think Trump will make the right decision."

    🔸On Sunday, February 1, the newspaper Etemad announced that Erfan Soltani, a detained protester, "was released on a bail of two billion tomans." Agence France-Presse also reported this news, citing the lawyer of the protester. A few days after the protests of January 7 and 8, the U.S. State Department wrote on X that 26-year-old Erfan Soltani had been sentenced to death and that the Islamic Republic intends to carry out this sentence.

    🔸On Sunday, February 1, the Iranian presidency published the names of 2,986 individuals whom it claims were killed in the protests of January. This list includes the names, fathers' names, and the last six digits of the national ID numbers of the individuals. Institutions and officials of the Islamic Republic deny the role of military and security forces in the deaths of protesters, claiming they were killed by "terrorists" supported by foreign countries.

    🔸The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing American officials, that U.S. airstrikes against Iran are not on the agenda in the near future, as the Pentagon is deploying additional air defense systems to better protect Israel, Arab allies, and American forces in the event of retaliatory actions by Iran and the possibility of a prolonged conflict.

    🔸After speculation about the visit of Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Foreign Minister, to Tehran, the Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed this visit in a statement, stating that the Foreign Minister met with Ali Larijani, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic.

    🔸The United States has sanctioned several Iranian officials, including the Minister of Interior and the head of the IRGC Intelligence Organization. The U.S. Treasury Department announced in a statement that among those sanctioned is Eskandar Momeni, Iran's Minister of Interior, because he "oversees the Islamic Republic's Law Enforcement Force, a key institution responsible for the deaths of thousands of peaceful protesters." The statement noted that Majid Khademi, head of the IRGC Intelligence Organization, is also on the U.S. sanctions list, emphasizing that this organization "is the backbone of the nationwide campaign of Iran's security forces to carry out widespread violence, arbitrary arrests, and intimidation; a campaign aimed at breaking the wave of protests in Iran." Majid Khademi was appointed to this position following the death of Mohammad Kazemi, the former head of the IRGC Intelligence Organization, during Israeli attacks in the 12-day war. The U.S. Treasury also sanctioned Babak Zanjani as a businessman involved in circumventing sanctions. Additionally, two currency exchange offices registered in the UK have been linked to him and placed on the sanctions list. The Treasury stated that these two exchange offices had processed funds related to the IRGC.

    The President of the United States also answered a question regarding reports that the Saudi Defense Minister said that if the regime in Iran is not attacked, it will become bolder, stating: "Some think that way. Some do not." He said you can reach a negotiated agreement that eliminates nuclear weapons and other issues. "They need to do that. But I don't know if they will, but they are talking to us. Axios: Saudi Defense Minister Warns That If Trump Does Not Attack Iran, the Regime Will Strengthen

    Axios has revealed in an exclusive report that Khalid bin Salman, the Saudi Defense Minister, told officials and experts in a private meeting in Washington that if Donald Trump does not act on his threats against Iran, the ultimate result will be the "strengthening of the Islamic Republic."

    According to four sources present at the meeting, Khalid bin Salman explicitly emphasized that a U.S. withdrawal after weeks of military threats sends a message of weakness and effectively emboldens Tehran. This stance is in stark contrast to the official and public position of Saudi Arabia in recent weeks, which has emphasized "avoiding escalation" and the need for a diplomatic solution.

    The significance of this change in tone is underscored by the fact that just three weeks ago, Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, warned Trump in a direct call about the danger of regional war, and one of the main reasons for the delay in the U.S. attack was this concern from Riyadh. Even just a few days ago, bin Salman told the Iranian President that Saudi Arabia would not allow the U.S. to use its airspace to attack Iran.

    However, behind closed doors, a different narrative is unfolding. According to the Axios report, Khalid bin Salman, in a one-hour meeting with about 15 experts from American think tanks and representatives from five Jewish organizations, stated that under the current circumstances, Trump "must" take military action after all these threats, although he should simultaneously work to control the risk of escalating war in the region.

    According to sources present at the meeting, he said:
    “At this point, if this does not happen, it will only make the regime bolder.”

    Meanwhile, Khalid bin Salman himself acknowledged that after his meetings at the White House, he still does not have a clear picture of the Trump administration's actual strategy regarding Iran, and it is unclear what Washington intends to do.

    According to the Axios report, Khalid bin Salman had an extensive meeting on Thursday with Marco Rubio (Secretary of State), Pete Hegseth (Secretary of Defense), Steve Vaitkoff (Trump's Special Representative), and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, focusing primarily on "the possibility of a U.S. attack on Iran."

    At the regional level, a Gulf official stated that the situation has reached a deadlock: on one hand, a U.S. attack could have dangerous and uncontrollable consequences, and on the other hand, not attacking means that Iran will emerge from the current crisis "stronger."

    Axios suggests that Saudi Arabia's shift in tone is likely due to the assessment that Trump has made his decision to attack, and Riyadh does not want to be in a position of open opposition to Washington, even if it continues to publicly advocate for diplomacy and respect for Iran's sovereignty.
