According to the New York Post, one of the latest points of contention regarding a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran is how to gradually release Iran's assets held in Qatar, which are intended for humanitarian purposes.

Based on this report, the financial resources in question will not be directly handed over to the Iranian government; instead, they will be used to purchase food and medical supplies, which will then be sent to Iran.

The New York Post quoted a U.S. government official stating that the gradual disbursement of these resources will be contingent upon Iran fulfilling its commitments, including reopening the Strait of Hormuz and clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

Scott Basset, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, announced on Friday, May 29, at the "Reagan National Economic Forum" that Washington has directly seized about one billion dollars in cryptocurrency assets linked to the Iranian government and confiscated their digital wallets.

He emphasized that these assets are essentially stolen money from the people of Iran, noting that many of the account holders are still unaware of the seizure of their assets and digital wallets.

The U.S. Treasury Secretary also added that Washington is closely collaborating with its European allies to track and seize properties, including villas and homes belonging to these individuals across Europe.

The New York Times reported, citing a senior U.S. official, that Donald Trump's meeting in the White House "situation room" lasted two hours, but the U.S. president has not yet reached a final decision on any new agreement with Tehran.

The official added that the U.S. government believes it is close to reaching an agreement, but some issues, including the release of frozen assets, remain under discussion and contentious.

A senior official told the Associated Press that the meeting was examining the framework of an agreement that would extend the ceasefire for 60 days and advance negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program. The official did not comment on whether Trump made a decision to accept this preliminary agreement after the nearly two-hour meeting.

On Friday, May 29, the Wall Street Journal revealed in an exclusive report, citing informed sources, that the United Arab Emirates has carried out dozens of airstrikes against positions in Iran during the war.

Sources from the Wall Street Journal indicate that the UAE's role in this military campaign has been "much deeper" than previously reported.

According to the report, these attacks were conducted with full coordination from Washington and Tel Aviv, relying on intelligence provided by them.

The UAE's targets included the islands of Qeshm and Abu Musa in the Strait of Hormuz, Bandar Abbas, the oil refinery on Lavan Island, and the Assaluyeh petrochemical complex. The attacks on Assaluyeh, which were carried out jointly with Israel in response to the Islamic Republic's strikes on the UAE's energy infrastructure, provoked severe international reactions and compelled Washington to urge Israel to cease attacks on energy facilities.

Donald Trump reshared a post from Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, on Truth Social, in which it was stated: After reviewing the Iran war this week, I am convinced that Trump is on the verge of a historic victory.
    IranIntlbrk

The post that Gingrich wrote 8 hours ago, machine translation:
After spending this week reviewing the Iran war, I am now convinced that President Trump is on the verge of a historic victory. The real turning point for me came when I examined President Trump's decisions and maneuvers not from the perspective of American unilateralism, but from the perspective of a leader of a remarkable historical coalition; the largest coalition ever formed in the modern Middle East.

Everyone knows that Israel is an important ally. But what is less talked about is the depth of support from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and other countries in the region. It must be very thought-provoking for the Iranian dictatorship to realize that it has not a single ally willing to challenge the U.S. naval blockade. Gradually, cautiously, our European allies are also lining up to assist in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

A large part of President Trump's maneuvers against Iran makes sense when we see him not merely as an American unilateralist president, but as a leader of a coalition. I have spent much of the past few weeks examining military options; including victory in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz and, if necessary, employing a shocking and crushing level of military power; similar to what President Nixon and Secretary of State Kissinger used against Hanoi and Haiphong at Christmas 1972; an action that both leaders believed convinced North Vietnam to accept a ceasefire and the release of American prisoners.

If this were an American unilateral campaign, I could enthusiastically support a more aggressive military campaign. However, it is also clear that such an action would fracture the coalition, as our Arab allies are convinced that Iran can still inflict massive damage on their oil fields and infrastructure. Coalitions inherently operate more slowly than unilateral campaigns. Nevertheless, coalitions ultimately bring a far greater power to the field.

Like everyone else, I am frustrated by the pace of negotiations with this dictatorship; however, after reviewing the balance of power and the options available to the coalition on one side, and the Iranian religious dictatorship on the other, I am ready to say that President Trump's coalition leadership—something that almost none of his critics want to acknowledge—is on the verge of achieving a tremendous historic victory.

And if the Iranian dictatorship ultimately proves to be desperately committed to a suicidal position, there will be ample time for a military campaign with great power and effectiveness. In any case, we are on the brink of an astonishing victory for our values and for a safer Middle East.

He reiterated, "At this stage, we are focused on ending the war, and we have no negotiations regarding the nuclear file."

These remarks come as Mr. Trump presented a list of demands that he says Iran must fulfill, which includes Iran's commitment to not acquiring nuclear weapons, opening the Strait of Hormuz without charging tolls, completely clearing mines from this waterway, and removing Iran's enriched uranium reserves in cooperation with the U.S. and under the supervision of the agency, and then destroying these materials.

Iran must accept that it will never have a weapon or nuclear bomb.

The Strait of Hormuz must be opened immediately, without tariffs, for the free passage of ships in both directions. All sea mines, if they exist, will be removed; we have destroyed a large number of these mines through explosions with our extraordinary underwater mine sweepers. Iran must also immediately collect or detonate any remaining mines, which will not be many.

Ships that were trapped due to our astonishing and unprecedented naval blockade in the Strait — ❗️ a blockade that will now be lifted — can begin the "return home" process! On my behalf, your beloved President, send greetings to your wives, husbands, fathers, mothers, and families!

Enriched materials, sometimes referred to as "nuclear dust" and buried deep underground; while mountains that have practically collapsed due to the powerful attack of our B-2 bombers 11 months ago sit on top of it, ❗️ will be brought out from underground by the United States; a country that, according to the agreement, is the only country alongside China capable of performing such a task mechanically. This will be done in close coordination and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and also the International Atomic Energy Agency, and then these materials will be destroyed.

❗️ Until further notice, no money will be exchanged.

An agreement has also been reached on other matters that are of much lesser importance.
💥 I will now have a meeting in the situation room to make the final decision.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

🔴 The Abdolrahman Boroumand Foundation has documented 660 executions carried out by the Islamic Republic since the beginning of this year. However, due to the secretive and opaque nature of Iran's judicial system, the actual figures are likely much higher than this number.

🔸 Since the onset of the war, the number of executions of protesters and individuals accused of espionage and similar charges against national security has increased at an alarming rate. "Forced confessions" of victims have been the primary "evidence" used in these deadly sentences.

🔸 These confessions are obtained under completely ambiguous conditions and severe physical and psychological pressures. The Islamic Republic continuously broadcasts these forced confessions on state media to use them as a tool to justify executions and suppress public dissent.
