☄️JD Vance: We Did Not Reach an Agreement
JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States, announced early Sunday in Islamabad that the Islamic Republic decided not to accept the conditions of the United States. He added that we are returning without any agreement.
Vance said: Let me first express a few points of appreciation; first of all, to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Field Marshal Munir, both of whom were outstanding hosts. Any shortcomings in these negotiations were not due to the Pakistanis; they did an amazing job and truly tried to help us and the Iranians bridge the gaps and reach an agreement. We have been working for 21 hours now and have had several substantive discussions with the Iranians. This is good news. But the bad news is that we did not reach an agreement, and I think this is much worse news for Iran than for the United States. Therefore, we are returning to the United States without reaching an agreement. We have made our red lines very clear; the issues we were willing to compromise on and the issues we were absolutely unwilling to budge on. We stated this as clearly as possible, and they chose not to accept our conditions.
I won't go into all the details because I don't want to negotiate in public after 21 hours of private discussions. But the simple reality is that we need to see a firm commitment that they will not seek nuclear weapons and will not pursue tools that would allow them to quickly acquire nuclear weapons. This is the main goal of the President of the United States, and this is what we tried to achieve through these negotiations. Again, I say, their nuclear program as it was — meaning the enrichment facilities they previously had — has been destroyed. But the simple question is: Do we see a fundamental commitment in the Iranians' will not to develop nuclear weapons? Not just for now, not just for two years from now, but for the long term. We have not seen such a thing yet. We hope to see it.
We talked about all those issues, and beyond that, several other topics were discussed. Those issues were certainly raised, but again, I say, we could not reach a condition where the Iranians were willing to accept our terms. I think we were very flexible and accommodating with them. The President told us, "You must come here in good faith and make your best effort to reach an agreement." We did that, but unfortunately, we could not make any progress.
It is clear that we were in constant contact with the President. I don't know exactly how many times, maybe half a dozen or a dozen times during these 21 hours we spoke with him. We also clearly spoke with Admiral Cooper, with Pete (Hegseth), Marco (Rubio), and the entire national security team. We had several conversations with Scott Bassett as well. You see, we were constantly in touch with the team because we were negotiating in good faith. And we are leaving here, but we are leaving with a very simple proposal; a memorandum that is our "last and best offer." We need to see if the Iranians will accept it or not.

جیدی ونس، معاون رییسجمهوری آمریکا، بامداد یکشنبه در سخنانی در اسلامآباد اعلام کرد که جمهوری اسلامی تصمیم گرفت شرایط ایالات متحده را نپذیرد.
او اضافه کرد ما بدون هیچ توافقی برمیگردیم.

ما درباره تمام آن مسائل صحبت کردیم و فراتر از آن، درباره موضوعات متعدد دیگری هم بحث شد. قطعاً آن موارد مطرح شدند، اما باز هم میگویم، ما نتوانستیم به شرایطی برسیم که در آن ایرانیها حاضر به پذیرش شروط ما باشند. من فکر میکنم ما کاملاً منعطف بودیم و بسیار با آنها راه آمدیم. رئیسجمهور به ما گفت: «باید با حسن نیت به اینجا بیایید و بیشترین تلاش خود را برای رسیدن به توافق به کار ببندید.» ما این کار را انجام دادیم، اما متأسفانه نتوانستیم هیچ پیشرفتی حاصل کنیم.
بدیهی است که ما بهطور مداوم با رئیسجمهور در تماس بودیم. نمیدانم دقیقاً چند بار، شاید نیمدوجین یا یک دوجین بار در طول این ۲۱ ساعت با او صحبت کردیم. همچنین مشخصاً با دریاسالار کوپر، با پیت (هگست)، مارکو (روبیو) و کل تیم امنیت ملی صحبت کردیم. چندین بار با اسکات بسنت هم گفتگو داشتیم. ببینید، ما مدام با تیم در ارتباط بودیم چون با حسن نیت مذاکره میکردیم. و ما از اینجا میرویم، اما با یک پیشنهاد بسیار ساده از اینجا میرویم؛ تفاهمنامهای که «آخرین و بهترین پیشنهاد» ماست. باید ببینیم آیا ایرانیها آن را میپذیرند یا خیر.»
