The New York Times reported, citing several American officials, that while Trump is considering implementing his threat to attack the Islamic Republic due to the suppression of protesters, new options for carrying out these attacks have recently been presented to him.

According to the report, Trump has not yet made a final decision, but he is seriously considering issuing an authorization for an attack.

Senior American officials stated that at least some of the options presented to Donald Trump regarding Iran are directly related to parts of the security apparatus responsible for suppressing protests.

A senior U.S. military official said that commanders stationed in the region need more time before any potential attack to stabilize U.S. military positions and prepare for possible retaliatory attacks from Iran.

The report, citing American officials, noted that Washington must be careful that any military attack does not have the opposite effect, including pushing Iranian public opinion to support the government or triggering a wave of retaliatory attacks that could endanger the lives of U.S. military personnel and diplomatic staff in the region.

نیویورک تایمز به نقل از چند مقام آمریکایی گزارش داد در حالی که ترامپ در حال بررسی عملی کردن تهدید خود برای حمله به جمهوری اسلامی به دلیل سرکوب معترضان است، در روزهای اخیر گزینه‌های جدید برای انجام این حمله‌ها به اطلاع او رسیده است.

طبق این گزارش، ترامپ هنوز تصمیم نهایی را نگرفته، اما به‌طور جدی در حال بررسی صدور مجوز حمله است.

مقام‌های ارشد آمریکایی گفتند که دست‌کم برخی از گزینه‌هایی که درباره ایران به دونالد ترامپ ارائه شده است، مستقیما به بخش‌هایی از دستگاه‌های امنیتی مسئول سرکوب اعتراض‌ها مربوط می‌شود.

یک مقام ارشد نظامی آمریکا گفت فرماندهان مستقر در منطقه پیش از هر حمله احتمالی به زمان بیشتری نیاز دارند تا مواضع نظامی آمریکا را تثبیت کرده و برای حملات تلافی‌جویانه احتمالی ایران آماده شوند.

این گزارش به نقل از مقام‌های آمریکایی نوشت: واشینگتن باید مراقب باشد که هرگونه حمله نظامی نتیجه معکوس نداشته باشد، از جمله اینکه افکار عمومی ایران را به حمایت از حکومت سوق دهد یا موجی از حملات تلافی‌جویانه را به راه بیندازد که می‌تواند جان نیروهای نظامی و کارکنان دیپلماتیک آمریکا در منطقه را به خطر بیندازد.
