"Majid Tarshiz," a former Iranian football player, was shot and killed by the security forces of the Islamic Republic along with his wife on Thursday, July 8, 2025.
According to "Majid Pourbakhsh," a sports presenter and journalist, Majid Tarshiz's wife was also killed alongside him. No further details about Majid Tarshiz's wife have been released. However, Majid Pourbakhsh has stated that they have two children.
Majid Tarshiz was born in "Qaem Shahr," Mazandaran province, and had a history of playing for teams such as Tractor, Nassaji, Esteghlal Ahvaz, Fajr, and Mes Kerman.
"Masoud Shojaei," the former captain of the Iranian national football team and a former player for "Osasuna" in Spain, shared the news of Majid Tarshiz's death on his Instagram story, tagging FIFA's account and asking when the global football federation will respond to the killing of football players in Iran by the government.
