Abbas Araqchi evades stating the number of casualties: "We were fighting terrorists, not protesters."

• There are reports indicating that between 2,500 to over 12,000 protesters have been killed by the regime in various cities. How many people have been killed?
• I must say, I need to explain the story to you. When terrorist elements, directed from abroad, entered these protests, you know, they started shooting; shooting at police forces, police officers, and there were terrorist groups. They entered and used ISIS-style terrorist operations. They captured police officers, burned them alive, beheaded them, and began shooting at police officers as well as at the people.
  As a result, for three days we were actually at war with terrorists, not protesters."
