France Press reported on the efforts of three Arab countries to dissuade Donald Trump, the President of the United States, from attacking Iran.

The agency reported on Thursday, January 25, that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman were leading efforts to dissuade Donald Trump from attacking Iran.

France Press quoted a senior Saudi official, who wished to remain anonymous, stating: "These three Gulf countries undertook a long, intensive, and last-minute diplomatic effort to convince President Trump to give Iran a chance to demonstrate goodwill."

Reports indicate that on Wednesday, some personnel from the Al Udeid military base in Qatar were evacuated, and staff at U.S. diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait were warned to exercise caution due to increasing concerns about a U.S. attack in response to Iran's crackdown on protesters.

Two diplomatic sources told France Press on Thursday that the security situation at the Al Udeid airbase in Qatar had decreased after some personnel were advised to leave on Wednesday due to regional tensions. Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he had received "very important" assurances from "sources" that the Islamic Republic would not execute protesters.
