Axios reported on Friday morning, January 26, citing an Israeli official and a knowledgeable source, that David Barnea, the head of Israel's foreign intelligence agency (Mossad), has traveled to the United States for consultations regarding developments in Iran.

According to Axios, this trip is part of discussions between the U.S. and Israel about the Iranian revolutionary uprising and the potential military action by Washington in response to the crackdown on protesters in Iran. Barnea is expected to meet in Miami with Steve Witkoff, the White House envoy who manages the direct communication channel between the U.S. and Iran. Witkoff has been in contact with Abbas Araghchi, Iran's foreign minister, during the protests.

This trip follows a phone conversation between Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the Iran crisis. In this call, Netanyahu requested a delay in U.S. military action to prepare Israel for a possible Iranian response.

Following Donald Trump's announcement of support for the Iranian national uprising, U.S. officials have emphasized that military action remains on the table for the White House. At the same time, the strengthening of U.S. military capabilities in the region continues.
