Following a possible cyber attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, several television networks broadcasting via the Badr or Arabsat satellites were hacked for a few minutes, replacing regular programming with videos of protests during the "Iranian National Revolution" and a message from Prince Reza Pahlavi.

One of the managers of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, in an interview with the Tasnim news agency, rejected the notion of a cyber attack on the organization, describing the incident as a "signal war."

Tasnim news agency wrote: "The incident last night essentially had no cyber nature; rather, it was a type of signal war. This means that the satellite we use as a signal carrier was targeted for sending a disruptive and powerful signal."
He stated that a powerful disruptive signal was sent from outside the country on the same frequency, causing the disturbance. According to him, the company Intelsat was also involved in this issue.
He explained: While the signal from the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting was being transmitted, a disruptive carrier from a point outside the country sent a high-power signal on the same frequency. When the power of this disruptive signal increases, its transmitted content replaces our original content.

در پی حمله سایبری احتمالی به صداوسیمای جمهوری اسلامی، چند شبکه تلویزیونی که از طریق ماهواره بدر یا عرب‌ست پخش می‌شدند، برای دقایقی هک و به‌جای برنامه‌های معمول، ویدیوهایی از اعتراضات مردم در «انقلاب ملی ایرانیان» و پیام شاهزاده رضا پهلوی پخش کردند.

یکی از مدیران صداوسیما در گفت‌وگو با خبرگزاری تسنیم، با رد موضوع حمله سایبری به صدا و سیما، این رخداد را «جنگ سیگنالی» توصیف کرد.

خبرگزاری تسنیم نوشت: «حادثه شب گذشته اساسا ماهیت سایبری نداشت، بلکه نوعی جنگ سیگنالی بود. به این معنا که ماهواره‌ای که به‌عنوان حامل سیگنال از آن استفاده می‌کنیم، هدف ارسال سیگنال مزاحم و پرقدرت قرار گرفت.»
او گفت سیگنال مزاحم و پرقدرتی از خارج از کشور روی همان فرکانس ارسال شده که موجب اختلال شده است. به گفته او، خود شرکت اینتل‌ست نیز درگیر این مشکل بوده است.
او توضیح داد: در حالی که سیگنال صداوسیما در حال ارسال بود، یک کریر مزاحم از نقطه‌ای خارج از کشور، با قدرت بالا روی همان فرکانس اقدام به ارسال سیگنال کرد. زمانی که قدرت این سیگنال مزاحم افزایش می‌یابد، محتوای ارسالی آن جایگزین محتوای اصلی ما می‌شود.
