Time magazine, citing two senior officials from Iran's Ministry of Health, has reported that as many as 30,000 people may have been killed during street protests in Iran on just two days, January 8 and 9. According to these sources, the scale of the killings has overwhelmed the government's capacity to transport and bury the bodies, and even the reserves of body bags have run out. This internal figure, which had not been made public before, significantly contrasts with the 3,117 figure previously announced by officials close to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.

Time emphasized that it has not independently verified these numbers. However, the reported figures align with data secretly collected by doctors and rescue workers.

This report comes at a time when widespread internet shutdowns and severe restrictions on information continue to hinder access to accurate casualty statistics in Iran.

مجله تایم به نقل از دو مقام ارشد وزارت بهداشت ایران گزارش داده که ممکن است تنها در دو روز، هشتم و نهم ژانویه، تا ۳۰ هزار نفر در جریان اعتراضات خیابانی در ایران کشته شده باشند.
به گفته این منابع، شدت کشتار به حدی بوده که ظرفیت حکومت برای انتقال و دفن اجساد پاسخ‌گو نبوده و حتی ذخایر کیسه‌های جسد نیز به پایان رسیده است. این آمار داخلی، که پیش از این علنی نشده بود، اختلاف چشمگیری با رقم سه‌هزار و ۱۱۷ نفری دارد که پیش‌تر از سوی مقام‌های نزدیک به رهبر جمهوری اسلامی اعلام شده بود.

تایم تأکید کرده که این ارقام را به‌طور مستقل راستی‌آزمایی نکرده است. با این حال، شمار اعلام‌شده با داده‌هایی که پزشکان و نیروهای امدادی به‌صورت مخفیانه جمع‌آوری کرده‌اند هم‌خوانی دارد.

این گزارش در شرایطی منتشر می‌شود که قطع گسترده اینترنت و محدودیت‌های شدید اطلاع‌رسانی، همچنان مانع دسترسی به آمار دقیق تلفات در ایران است.
