The Iranian Foreign Ministry states that Tehran's current priority is readiness for defense, not negotiations with the U.S.
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, emphasized that "sitting at the negotiating table with the U.S. does not mean a reduced likelihood of war," stating that "our priority right now is not negotiating with the U.S., but a 200% readiness to defend the country."
Mr. Gharibabadi added that despite "exchanging messages" with the U.S., there are currently no negotiations taking place with the United States.

Axios reported, citing American officials, that there are currently no serious negotiations between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic. Countries such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar have been in contact with both sides and have conveyed messages.
Axios added that Trump spoke with Erdogan about Iran on Tuesday, and Araghchi also contacted the foreign ministers of Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

وزارت خارجه ایران می‌گوید در حال حاضر اولویت تهران آمادگی برای دفاع است نه مذاکره با آمریکا.
کاظم غریب‌آبادی، معاون وزیر خارجه ایران، با تاکید بر اینکه «نشستن پشت میز مذاکره با آمریکا به معنای کاهش احتمال جنگ نیست» گفت که «اولویت ما در حال حاضر مذاکره با آمریکا نیست بلکه آمادگی ۲۰۰ درصدی برای دفاع از کشور است.»
آقای غریب‌آبادی افزود که علیرغم «تبادل پیام‌هایی» با آمریکا، در حال حاضر مذاکره‌ای با ایالات متحده در جریان نیست.

اکسیوس به نقل از مقام‌های آمریکایی نوشت در حال حاضر هیچ مذاکره جدی میان آمریکا و جمهوری اسلامی در جریان نیست. کشورهایی از جمله عربستان سعودی، ترکیه و قطر با هر دو طرف در تماس بوده‌اند و پیام‌هایی را منتقل کرده‌اند.
اکسیوس افزود ترامپ روز سه‌شنبه با اردوغان درباره ایران گفت‌وگو کرده، عراقچی نیز روز چهارشنبه با وزرای خارجه ترکیه، قطر و عربستان سعودی تماس داشته است.
