Donald Trump, the President of the United States, spoke about Iran during a press conference at the White House on Monday evening, February 1st.
Mr. Trump stated that the U.S. has sent the "best" and "largest" ships towards Iran while simultaneously engaging in negotiations with the Islamic Republic.
He added, "Let's see how all of this will turn out."
One of the reporters asked Mr. Trump on Monday evening if he could share his military plans regarding Iran.
The President of the United States replied, "I can't tell you because we currently have a large force going there. Like Venezuela. Even bigger."
Mr. Trump continued, "I would like to negotiate a deal. I don't know if that will happen or not."
The President told the reporter that even if he knew whether the negotiations would be successful, he would still refrain from answering his question about military plans related to Iran because such an action would be unwise.
Mr. Trump said, "We are currently talking with [the Islamic Republic] of Iran. If we can reach an agreement, it would be great. If we can't, bad things will likely happen."

Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of War, warned the leaders of the Islamic Republic on Monday that if Tehran refuses to negotiate with the U.S. regarding its nuclear program, the Pentagon is "more prepared to act than ever."
Hegseth, after speaking at the Blue Origin headquarters in Florida, told reporters, "The President has made it clear from the beginning, just as he did before the 'Midnight Hammer' operation, that the Islamic Republic should not gain the ability to produce nuclear weapons. So either they negotiate on this matter, or we have other options - that's exactly why the Department of War exists."
Referring to Trump's military action against the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities last summer, he added, "He doesn't want it to come to that, and I don't want that path to be taken either, but our duty is full readiness, and of course, we are ready, even more than ready."
The U.S. Secretary of War continued, "President Trump is committed to peace, and if the Islamic Republic is truly serious about a deal, he is also committed to reaching an agreement. We will see what happens; the decision is with the Islamic Republic."

Pete Hegseth's remarks come as the United States has recently established a significant military presence near the Islamic Republic. The arrival of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and its accompanying strike group in the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) area, along with the deployment of more fighter jets and transport aircraft to the region, has strengthened this military presence.
