Two hours later 'Canceled negotiations at the request of 9 countries in the Americas'

Before the update:
Axios reported on Wednesday, citing two American officials, that the United States has informed the Islamic Republic that it will not agree to Tehran's request to change the location and format of the scheduled negotiations on Friday.

A senior American official told Axios: "We told Iran either this format or nothing; they said, well, then nothing."

Another American official told Axios that if Iran is willing to return to the original format of the negotiations, the U.S. is ready for a meeting this week or next.

A senior American official also said: "We want to reach a real agreement as soon as possible, otherwise people will look at other options."

Axios reported that U.S. officials expect Steve Witkoff, the White House envoy, and Jared Kushner, son-in-law and advisor to Donald Trump, to travel to Qatar on Thursday to discuss Iran with the Prime Minister of Qatar. According to the current schedule, they will return to Miami after this meeting and have no plans to meet with Iranian officials.

According to Axios, the Islamic Republic's mission to the United Nations did not respond to a request for comment.

دو ساعت بعد 'به درخواست ۹ کشورهای منطقه آمریکا از لغو مذاکرات صرف‌نظر کرد'

اکسیوس روز چهارشنبه به نقل از دو مقام آمریکایی گزارش داد ایالات متحده به جمهوری اسلامی اطلاع داده است که با درخواست تهران برای تغییر محل و قالب مذاکرات برنامه‌ریزی‌شده در روز جمعه موافقت نخواهد کرد.

یک مقام ارشد آمریکایی به اکسیوس گفت: «به ایران گفتیم یا همین قالب یا هیچ؛ آنها هم گفتند خب، پس هیچ.»

یک مقام آمریکایی دیگر به اکسیوس گفت اگر ایران حاضر باشد به قالب اولیه مذاکرات بازگردد، آمریکا آماده است این هفته یا هفته آینده دیدار انجام شود.

یک مقام ارشد آمریکایی همچنین گفت: «ما می‌خواهیم هرچه سریع‌تر به یک توافق واقعی برسیم، وگرنه مردم به گزینه‌های دیگر نگاه خواهند کرد.»

اکسیوس به نقل از مقام‌های آمریکایی نوشت انتظار می‌رود استیو ویتکاف، فرستاده کاخ سفید، و جرد کوشنر، داماد و مشاور دونالد ترامپ، روز پنج‌شنبه برای گفت‌وگو درباره ایران با نخست‌وزیر قطر به این کشور سفر کنند. بر اساس برنامه فعلی، آنها پس از این دیدار به میامی بازخواهند گشت و برنامه‌ای برای دیدار با مقام‌های ایرانی ندارند.

به گزارش اکسیوس، نمایندگی جمهوری اسلامی در سازمان ملل متحد به درخواست برای اظهار نظر پاسخی نداد.
