Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated in an interview with Fox News that any agreement with Iran must include not only the country's nuclear program but also Tehran's missile program.

Mr. Trump, who mentioned the possibility of sending another naval group to the Persian Gulf on Tuesday, emphasized in the Fox News interview: "Many people say no, but I say I would prefer an agreement to be made; of course, it has to be a good agreement. No nuclear weapons, no missiles, none of this and none of that; everything you want. But some people are worried because, according to them, Iran has been very dishonest with us over the years."

Mr. Trump's remarks about the terms of negotiations with Iran come as Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister, and other leaders of the Islamic Republic state that the country's missile program is "non-negotiable" and that regarding the nuclear program, the country will not relinquish its right to enrichment, although it may temporarily halt or reduce it for confidence-building purposes.

Yesterday, J.D. Vance, Mr. Trump's deputy, mentioned in Yerevan that the issue of the bloody crackdown on protests in Iran in December has also been raised in negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا در گفتگو با شبکه فاکس‌نیوز گفته هرگونه توافقی با ایران باید علاوه بر برنامه هسته‌ای این کشور، شامل برنامه موشکی تهران هم باشد.

آقای ترامپ که روز سه‌شنبه، از احتمال اعزام یک ناوگروه دیگر به خلیج فارس هم سخن گفته بود، در مصاحبه با فکس نیوز تصریح کرد که: «خیلی‌ها می‌گویند نه، اما من می‌گویم ترجیح می‌دهم توافقی انجام شود؛ البته باید یک توافق خوب باشد. بدون سلاح هسته‌ای، بدون موشک، بدون این و بدون آن؛ همه چیزهایی که شما می‌خواهید. اما بعضی‌ها نگرانند، چون به گفته آنها، ایران در طول سال‌ها با ما بسیار ناصادق بوده است.»

اظهارات آقای ترامپ درباره مفاد مذاکرات با ایران در حالی است که عباس عراقچی، وزیرخارجه و سایر رهبران جمهوری اسلامی می‌گویند برنامه موشکی این کشور «قابل مذاکره» نیست و درباره برنامه هسته‌ای هم این کشور حق غنی‌سازی خود را واگذار نخواهد کرد اما برای اعتمادسازی ممکن است آن را موقتا متوقف یا تقلیل دهد.
روز گذشته هم، جی‌دی ونس، معاون آقای ترامپ، در ایروان گفت که موضوع سرکوب خونین اعتراضات دی ماه در ایران هم در مذاکرات میان تهران و واشنگتن مطرح شده است.
