Executive Director of UN Watch: Iraqchi's Name Removed from Human Rights Council Speakers List

Hillel Neuer, Executive Director of UN Watch, announced that following a campaign of 100,000 people, the name of Abbas Iraqchi has been removed from the list of speakers for the Human Rights Council on February 23. Previously, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic was listed as a speaker for this session taking place in Geneva. Following the publication of this news, a wave of criticism against this action by the UN and the Human Rights Council emerged, with activists calling for Iraqchi's removal from the event. The Islamic Republic killed thousands during the national uprising of Iranians in January and injured and arrested thousands more.

مدیر اجرایی دیده‌بان سازمان ملل: نام عراقچی از فهرست سخنرانان شورای حقوق بشر حذف شد

هیلل نویر، مدیر اجرایی دیده‌بان سازمان ملل اعلام کرد که به دنبال کارزار ۱۰۰ هزار نفره، نام عباس عراقچی، از فهرست سخنرانان روز ۲۳ فوریه شورای حقوق بشر حذف شده است. پیش‌تر نام وزیر خارجه جمهوری اسلامی در فهرست سخنرانان این نشست قرار داشت که در ژنو برگزار می‌شود. به دنبال انتشار این خبر موجی از انتقادها علیه این اقدام سازمان ملل و شورای حقوق بشر ایجاد شد و فعالان خواستار حذف عراقچی از این رویداد شدند. جمهوری اسلامی هزاران نفر را در جریان خیزش ملی ایرانیان در دی‌ماه کشت و هزاران نفر دیگر را مجروح و بازداشت کرد.
