🔻According to reports and posts from the families of the victims of the bloody crackdown last December, security forces have prevented the holding of memorial ceremonies for the fortieth day and the gathering of survivors at the graves in Arak.

On Sunday - February 15 - family members of Ismail Ganjgoli, Mehrdad (Matin) Moshtaqi, and Ehsan Akbari shared separate stories on social media about the cancellation and rescheduling of the memorial ceremonies for their loved ones, citing "security considerations," "imposed restrictions," and "closure of the cemetery" as the reasons.

The fortieth-day ceremonies for thousands of those killed in the bloody crackdowns of January 7 and 8 will be held over the coming days this week, and it seems that security forces, fearing the emergence of protests and gatherings of opponents of the Islamic Republic, are trying to prevent these events from taking place.

This comes at a time when holding the fortieth-day ceremony is considered one of the traditional and religious rituals in Iran.
