Father and son were killed unaware of each other

Mani Shafiei was an accounting student, and his father, Mehdi Shafiei, was working on a construction project.

One of their relatives told Radio Farda that on January 9, Mehdi Shafiei left home to participate in protests in the Qaemiyeh neighborhood of Islamshahr and was shot in the heart by a live bullet; unaware that his son, Mani, had also been targeted.

According to this source, Mani was at his grandmother's house. After hearing gunfire, he went outside to find his father but was shot in the kidney by a live bullet at the end of the street and died in his grandmother's arms.

The bodies of Mehdi and Mani Shafiei were buried on January 11 in the village of Chenar, part of Asadabad, Hamadan.

Another relative told Radio Farda that the bodies of the two were handed over in Kahrizak. According to him, they received 500 million tomans for the delivery of the bodies and were not allowed to bury them in Tehran. Ultimately, they were buried in their ancestral village, Chenar in Asadabad, Hamadan, with the presence of the people. According to this account, people chanted anti-government slogans during the ceremony and did not allow security forces to enter the village.

پدر و پسر بی‌خبر از هم کشته شدند

مانی شفیعی دانشجوی حسابداری بود و پدرش، مهدی شفیعی، در یک پروژه ساختمانی کار می‌کرد.

یکی از بستگان آن‌ها به رادیوفردا گفت که ۱۹ دی‌ماه، مهدی شفیعی در شهرک قائمیه اسلامشهر برای شرکت در اعتراضات از خانه خارج شد و با اصابت گلوله جنگی به قلبش جان باخت؛ در حالی که نمی‌دانست پسرش، مانی، نیز هدف گلوله قرار گرفته است.

به گفته این منبع، مانی در خانه مادربزرگش بود. او پس از شنیدن صدای شلیک، برای پیدا کردن پدرش بیرون رفت، اما در سر کوچه با گلوله جنگی از ناحیه کلیه هدف قرار گرفت و در آغوش مادربزرگش جان باخت.

پیکر مهدی و مانی شفیعی ۲۱ دی‌ماه در روستای چنار از توابع اسدآباد همدان به خاک سپرده شد.

یکی دیگر از بستگان آن‌ها به رادیوفردا گفت که پیکر این دو نفر در کهریزک تحویل داده شد. به گفته او، برای تحویل پیکرها ۵۰۰ میلیون تومان دریافت کردند و اجازه خاکسپاری در تهران داده نشد.
در نهایت، آن‌ها در روستای پدری‌شان، چنار در اسدآباد همدان، با حضور مردم به خاک سپرده شدند. بنا بر این روایت، مردم در مراسم شعارهای ضدحکومتی سر دادند و به نیروهای امنیتی اجازه ورود به روستا را ندادند.
