Axios reported, citing a senior U.S. official, that the government of Donald Trump, the President of the United States, is prepared to consider a proposal that would allow the Islamic Republic to engage in "symbolic" uranium enrichment, provided that no practical pathway remains for acquiring nuclear weapons. According to this official, Trump's official stance remains "zero enrichment on Iranian soil," but if Tehran can technically demonstrate that a limited level of enrichment poses no threat, Washington will consider it. The media outlet noted that the U.S. has very high expectations for Tehran's written proposal and must address the doubts within the government and among regional allies. Axios also revealed that multiple military options, including plans to target Ali Khamenei and Mojtaba Khamenei, have been presented to Trump, but no decision has been made yet. According to this media, Omani and Qatari mediators emphasize an agreement that would be acceptable to the U.S., Tehran, and regional allies.
