Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, in an interview with CBS News, responded to the question of whether Donald Trump intends to attack Iran or is using this threat as leverage, saying: "I cannot judge, but one reality is that if they want to find a solution for Iran's peaceful nuclear program, the only way is diplomacy."
Araqchi added: "We have proven this in the past, and I believe there is still a good chance for achieving a diplomatic solution; a solution based on a win-win scenario that is available. Therefore, there is no need for any military buildup, and military buildup cannot help or pressure us."

In another part of this interview, he was asked about the proposed draft he had previously promised to present, including whether the approval of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic had been obtained and when this text would be presented to Steve Wittecuff, the U.S. special envoy. Araqchi responded that they are still working on this text to include elements that address the concerns and interests of both sides.
He expressed hope that in a possible meeting on Thursday in Geneva, they could work on these elements, prepare an appropriate text, and reach a quick agreement. According to the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, achieving such an agreement is "completely possible."
