🔸Volker Turk, the UN Human Rights Commissioner, called for an immediate halt to the death penalty in Iran on Friday, March 8. 🔸China's state news agency announced that the government has advised its citizens to refrain from traveling to Iran and that those currently in Iran should leave the country "as soon as possible." 🔸Following months of tension and conflict between Kabul and Islamabad, the Pakistani military launched airstrikes on at least two major Afghan cities, including Kabul, the capital, on the morning of Friday, March 8. 🔸فولکر تورک کمیسر حقوق بشر سازمان ملل متحد، جمعه هشتم اسفند خواستار توقف فوری اجرای مجازات اعدام در ایران شد.
به گزارش رویترز، آقای تورک در سخنرانی خود در شورای حقوق بشر سازمان ملل هشدار داد که پس از صدور نخستین حکم اعدام مرتبط با اعتراضات گسترده دی‌ماه در این هفته، ده‌ها نفر دیگر نیز در ایران در معرض خطر اعدام قرار دارند.
او افزود «از گزارش‌ها مبنی بر اینکه دست‌کم هشت نفر، از جمله دو کودک، در ارتباط با اعتراضات به اعدام محکوم شده‌اند، وحشت‌زده هستم.»
به گفتۀ او به نظر می‌رسد «۳۰ نفر دیگر نیز در معرض صدور همین حکم باشند».

🔸خبرگزاری دولتی چین اعلام کرد دولت این کشور به شهروندانش توصیه کرده از سفر به ایران خودداری کنند و کسانی که در ایران هستند، «هرچه زودتر» کشور را ترک کنند.
همزمان وزارت خارجهٔ ایالات متحده اعلام کرد خروج کارکنان غیراضطراری دولت آمریکا و اعضای خانوادهٔ آن‌ها از مأموریت آمریکا در اسرائیل مجاز شده است.

🔸کتائب حزب‌الله، گروه شبه‌نظامی عراقیِ مورد حمایت جمهوری اسلامی، روز پنج‌شنبه از اعضای خود خواست تا برای جنگی «طولانی و فرسایشی» در صورت حمله آمریکا به ایران آماده شوند.
در بیانیه کتائب حزب‌الله که قوی‌ترین گروه شبه‌نظامی وابسته به ایران به شمار می‌رود آمده است: «در میانه تهدیدهای آمریکا و افزایش حضور نظامی‌اش که بیانگر تشدید خطرناک تنش در منطقه است، لازم است که تمام جنگجویان برای جنگی بالقوه طولانی آماده باشند.»
گروه کتائب همچنین به آمریکا هشدار داده است که در صورت آغاز کردن جنگی دیگر در منطقه با «خسارات عظیم» روبه‌رو خواهد شد.

🔸دادگاهی در فرانسه روز پنجشنبه هفتم اسفند مهدیه اسفندیاری، شهروند ایرانی، را به اتهام «توجیه تروریسم در شبکه‌های اجتماعی» به یک سال زندان محکوم کرد.

🔸در پی ماه‌ها تنش و درگیری میان کابل و اسلام‌آباد، ارتش پاکستان بامداد جمعه، هشتم اسفندماه، به دست‌کم دو شهر مهم افغانستان، از جمله کابل، پایتخت، حمله هوایی کرد.
