The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that a ballistic missile fired from Iran struck the Al Udeid base in Qatar, the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East.

In a statement, the ministry said that two ballistic missiles were launched from Iran towards Qatar. According to the statement, air defense systems intercepted one of the missiles, but the second missile hit the Qatari base of Al Udeid, although there were no human casualties.

The Islamic Republic Army also stated that the attack on this base was in response to the joint U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran on Saturday.

وزارت دفاع قطر روز سه‌شنبه اعلام کرد یک موشک بالستیک که از ایران شلیک شده بود به پایگاه العدید در قطر، بزرگ‌ترین پایگاه نظامی آمریکا در خاورمیانه، اصابت کرده است.

در بیانیه این وزارتخانه آمده است که دو موشک بالستیک از ایران به سوی قطر شلیک شد. به گفته این بیانیه، سامانه‌های پدافند هوایی یکی از موشک‌ها را رهگیری کردند، اما موشک دوم به پایگاه قطری العدید اصابت کرد، هرچند تلفات انسانی در پی نداشت.

ارتش جمهوری اسلامی نیز اعلام کرده است که حمله به این پایگاه در پاسخ به حملات مشترک آمریکا و اسرائیل به ایران در روز شنبه انجام شده است.
