The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic announced on Thursday that the Islamic Republic is not seeking a ceasefire after six days of military conflict with the United States and Israel.

Abbas Araqchi stated in an interview with NBC News, "We have not made any request for a ceasefire, nor is there any request from us for negotiations with the United States."

He also rejected sending a message to Washington.

In this interview, Araqchi emphasized that Iran has "no intention of closing the Strait of Hormuz," but may consider all options if the war continues. This comes as recent days have seen officials from the Revolutionary Guard and media close to the Islamic Republic claiming that Tehran has closed this strategic strait.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, confidently stated in an interview with Reuters on Thursday evening that the main shipping route near Iran, the Strait of Hormuz, will remain open.

وزیر امور خارجه جمهوری اسلامی روز پنجشنبه اعلام کرد که جمهوری اسلامی بعد از شش روز درگیری نظامی با آمریکا و اسرائیل خواستار آتش‌بس نیست.

عباس عراقچی در گفت‌وگو با شبکه ان‌بی‌سی نیوز گفت: «از سوی ما هیچ درخواستی برای آتش‌بس مطرح نشده و هیچ درخواستی هم برای مذاکره با ایالات متحده از طرف ما وجود ندارد.»

او همچنین ارسال پیام برای واشینگتن را رد کرد.

عراقچی در این مصاحبه تصریح کرد که ایران «هیچ نیتی برای بستن تنگه هرمز» ندارد، اما با ادامه جنگ ممکن است همه گزینه‌ها را بررسی کند.
این در حالی است که در روزهای اخیر مقام‌های سپاه پاسداران و رسانه‌های نزدیک به جمهوری اسلامی مدعی بستن این تنگه استراتژیک توسط تهران شده‌اند.

دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا، شامگاه پنجشنبه در گفت‌وگو با خبرگزاری رویترز با اطمینان گفت که مسیر اصلی کشتیرانی در نزدیکی ایران، تنگهٔ هرمز، همچنان باز خواهد ماند.
