Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said on Thursday that he wants the complete dismantling of the leadership structure in Iran and added that he has a few names in mind for a "good leader."

In a phone interview with NBC News, Trump stated, "We want to go in and clean everything up. We don't want someone who will rebuild everything again over a ten-year period."

He added, "We want them to have a good leader. There are a few people who I think could do a good job." Trump refrained from naming these individuals.

Trump's remarks follow comments he made on Saturday during an interview with NBC News. When asked who would lead Iran in the future, he replied, "I don't know, but at some point, they will contact me to ask who I prefer." He added that "when I say this, I'm just being a little sarcastic."

Trump also responded on Thursday to remarks made by Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, during an interview with NBC Nightly News host Tom Llamas. Araghchi had stated that his country is prepared for a ground attack by American and Israeli forces. Trump described this statement as "nonsense" and said he is not currently thinking about a ground attack.

He said, "It's a waste of time. They have lost everything. They have lost their navy. They have lost everything they could lose." Trump added that the speed and intensity of attacks will continue.
