Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, accused the United States of targeting a desalination plant on Qeshm Island, which has led to the disruption of water supply for 30 villages. Araghchi described this action as a "clear crime and an act of desperation," stating: "Attacking Iran's infrastructure is a dangerous move with severe consequences. It was the United States that initiated such a course of action, not Iran."

Previously, the U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, had announced that the "Shahid Baqeri" ship, which was carrying drones from the Islamic Republic, had been targeted in the waters off Qeshm Island.

عباس عراقچی، وزیر خارجه جمهوری اسلامی، ایالات متحده را متهم کرد که در جزیره قشم، یک کارخانه آب‌شیرین‌کن را هدف قرار داده که منجر به قطع آب ۳۰ روستا شده است. عراقچی این اقدام را «جنایتی آشکار و از روی استیصال» توصیف کرد و نوشت: «حمله به زیرساخت‌های ایران، حرکتی خطرناک با پیامدهایی سنگین است. این ایالات متحده بود که چنین رویه‌ای را باب کرد، نه ایران.»

پیش از این ستاد فرماندهی مرکزی آمریکا، سنتکام، اعلام کرده بود که ناو «شهید باقری» که حامل پهپادهای جمهوری اسلامی بود، در آب‌های جزیره قشم هدف قرار گرفته است.
