Ahmadreza Radan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Law Enforcement Force of the Islamic Republic, said on the evening of March 10 to the state television news network of Iran: "If someone comes to the streets at the enemy's request, we do not see them as a protester or anything else. We see them as an enemy and will deal with them as we do with an enemy. All our forces are also ready with their fingers on the trigger."

In recent days, reports have emerged of a widespread presence of security forces in the streets. Some users on social media have stated that "Basij and plainclothes forces" have set up numerous checkpoints in various areas of the city, creating an atmosphere of fear and terror.

At the same time, the Coordinating Council of Teachers' Trade Unions has described the current atmosphere in Tehran as "military-like."

احمدرضا رادان، فرمانده کل انتظامی جمهوری اسلامی، شامگاه ۱۹ اسفند به شبکه خبر تلویزیون دولتی ایران گفت: «اگر کسی به خواست دشمن [به خیابان] بیاید، او را ما معترض و غیره نمی‌بینیم. او را ما دشمن می‌بینیم و [با او] برخوردی می‌کنیم که با دشمن می‌کنیم. همه بچه‌های ما هم دست به ماشه آماده‌اند.»

در روزهای اخیر گزارش‌هایی از حضور گسترده نیروهای امنیتی در خیابان‌ها منتشر شده است. برخی کاربران در شبکه‌های اجتماعی گفته‌اند که «بسیجی‌ها و نیروهای لباس‌شخصی» در مناطق مختلف شهر ایست‌وبازرسی‌های متعدد ایجاد کرده‌اند که موجب ایجاد فضای رعب و وحشت شده است.

هم‌زمان، شورای هماهنگی تشکل‌های صنفی فرهنگیان در گزارشی فضای این روزهای تهران را «پادگانی» توصیف کرده است.
