According to the New York Times, in a Pentagon briefing to U.S. lawmakers, it was stated that the first week of the war against Iran cost the United States more than $11.3 billion. The New York Times, citing sources familiar with the closed-door session on Tuesday, reported that this figure does not include many costs related to the preparation and deployment of forces prior to the start of the attacks; therefore, the actual cost of the first week of the war may be significantly higher. Defense officials had previously informed Congress that approximately $5.6 billion worth of munitions were used in just the first two days of the conflict, a figure that is much higher than previous public estimates.

مقام‌های دفاعی پیش‌تر نیز به کنگره گفته بودند که تنها در دو روز نخست درگیری حدود ۵.۶ میلیارد دلار مهمات مصرف شده است؛ رقمی که بسیار بالاتر از برآوردهای عمومی قبلی محسوب می‌شود.
