ساعاتی قبل از این نیز «علی لاریجانی»، دبیر شورای عالی امنیت ملی جمهوری اسلامی تهدید کرد اگر آمریکا به تاسیسات برق ایران حمله کند، در مقابل «ظرف نیم‌ساعت کل منطقه دچار خاموشی می‌شود.»

دونالد ترامپ رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا پنجشنبه ۲۱ اسفندماه، گفت روند تحولات مربوط به ایران بسیار سریع پیش می‌رود و ارتش آمریکا عملکردی قوی دارد.
ترامپ با اشاره به عملیات نظامی جاری گفت وضعیت آمریکا با ایران «خیلی سریع جلو می‌رود» و افزود ارتش آمریکا «خیلی خوب کار می‌کند و هماوردی ندارد». او تاکید کرد ایالات متحده کاری را انجام می‌دهد که باید سال‌ها پیش انجام می‌شد.
