The United States Central Command - CENTCOM - announced that it is aware of the incident and the "loss" of an American KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft. According to this command, the incident occurred in the airspace of friendly forces during ongoing operations against Iran, known as Epic Fury, and search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
In a statement released by CENTCOM on Thursday night, it was mentioned: "Two aircraft were involved in this incident. One of them crashed in western Iraq, while the second aircraft landed successfully."
The United States Central Command has claimed and emphasized that this incident "was not caused by enemy fire or friendly fire."

فرماندهی مرکزی ایالات متحده - سنتکام - اعلام کرد از سانحه و «از دست رفتن» یک هواپیمای سوخت رسان کیسی ۱۳۵ استراتوتانکر آمریکایی آگاه است.
به گفته این فرماندهی، این حادثه در حریم هوایی نیروهای خودی و در جریان عملیات جاری علیه ایران - موسوم به خشم حماسی (اپیک فیوری) - رخ داده و عملیات جستجو و نجات همچنان ادامه دارد.
در بیانیه سنتکام که پنجشنبه شب منتشر شد آمده است: «در این حادثه دو هواپیما درگیر بودهاند. یکی از آنها در غرب عراق سقوط کرده و هواپیمای دوم با موفقیت فرود آمده است.»
فرماندهی مرکزی ایالات متحده مدعی شده و تأکید کرده است که این حادثه «بر اثر آتش دشمن یا آتش خودی رخ نداده است».
