According to Reuters, based on industrial and energy data, the "Damavand Power Plant" (Shahadaei Pakdasht) near Tehran, with a capacity of 2868 megawatts, is the largest power plant in Iran.

According to a report by "Mehr" in November 2025, this power plant, which was launched in 2005, supplies 43 to 50 percent of Tehran's electricity needs. Therefore, if targeted, the likelihood of widespread blackouts, especially in the capital and surrounding areas, is very high.

Reuters wrote that after the "Damavand Power Plant," the Kerman Power Plant in the southeast with a capacity of 1910 megawatts and the Ramin Thermal Power Plant in Khuzestan province with a capacity of 1890 megawatts rank next among the largest power plants in Iran.

به گزارش رویترز، براساس داده‌های صنعتی و انرژی، «نیروگاه دماوند» (شهدای پاکدشت) در نزدیکی تهران با ظرفیت ۲۸۶۸ مگاوات، بزرگ‌ترین نیروگاه ایران است.

بنابر گزارش «مهر» در آبان ۱۴۰۴، این نیروگاه که در سال ۱۳۸۴ راه‌اندازی شد، ۴۳ الی ۵۰ درصد از نیاز برق تهران را تامین می‌کند.
بنابراین در صورت هدف قرار گرفتن، احتمال بروز خاموشی‌های گسترده به‌ویژه در پایتخت و مناطق اطراف بسیار بالا است.

رویترز نوشت، بعد از «نیروگاه دماوند»، نیروگاه کرمان در جنوب‌شرق با ظرفیت ۱۹۱۰ مگاوات و نیروگاه بخاری رامین در استان خوزستان با ظرفیت ۱۸۹۰ مگاوات در رتبه‌های بعدی بزرگ‌ترین نیروگاه‌های ایران قرار دارند.
