The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced in a statement on Sunday evening, April 2, that "the Strait of Hormuz is not closed and maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has not been halted," but that traffic is subject to "considerations arising from the state of war."

The statement noted that any vessel belonging to or associated with the United States and the Zionist regime and their supporters does not have the right to "normal passage," and preventing their movement is certain.

Non-hostile ships belonging to other countries can benefit from safe passage, provided they "do not participate or cooperate in aggressive operations against Iran" and comply with safety regulations in "coordination with the competent authorities of Iran."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the responsibility for any insecurity lies with Washington and Tel Aviv, and the return of sustainable stability to the region depends solely on "ending military aggression and terminating threats" and "full respect for Iran's legitimate interests."

وزارت امور خارجه جمهوری اسلامی ایران، شامگاه یکشنبه دوم فروردین، دربیانیه‌ای اعلام کرد «تنگه هرمز مسدود نیست و تردد دریایی در تنگه هرمز متوقف نشده است» اما تردد در آن تابع «ملاحظات ناشی از وضعیت جنگی» است.

در این بیانیه آمده است هرگونه شناور متعلق یا مرتبط با آمریکا و رژیم صهیونیستی و حامیان آن‌ها، از حق «عبور عادی» برخوردار نبوده و ممانعت از تردد آن‌ها قطعی است.

کشتی‌های غیرمتخاصم متعلق به سایر کشورها، مشروط به «عدم مشارکت یا همکاری در عملیات‌های تجاوزکارانه علیه ایران» و رعایت مقررات ایمنی در «هماهنگی با مراجع صلاحیت‌دار ایران»، می‌توانند از عبور و مرور ایمن بهره‌مند شوند.

وزارت خارجه جمهوری اسلامی نوشته است مسئولیت هرگونه ناامنی بر عهده واشینگتن و تل‌آویو بوده و بازگشت ثبات پایدار به منطقه تنها در گرو «پایان دادن به تجاوز نظامی و خاتمه تهدیدات» و «احترام کامل به منافع مشروع ایران» است.
