The Federal Prosecutor's Office for the Southern District of New York announced that after 17 years of legal battles, the U.S. government has agreed to a final settlement under which approximately $318 million will be paid to hundreds of victims of terrorism supported by the Islamic Republic.

According to U.S. officials, this case was related to a 36-story building on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, where the hidden interests of the National Bank of Iran were revealed through shell companies during the judicial proceedings. The U.S. Attorney's Office stated that these assets had been concealed for years, and their income was transferred to the National Bank of Iran.

Under this agreement, $129 million of the mentioned amount will be paid in Esfand 1404, and another $189 million, along with interest, will be paid over the next three years. This money will be allocated to victims and families of those affected by various attacks, including the 1983 bombing in Beirut, the September 11 attacks, and attacks by proxy groups of the Islamic Republic in Israel and other locations.

دادستانی فدرال ناحیه جنوبی نیویورک اعلام کرد پس از ۱۷ سال دعوای حقوقی، دولت آمریکا با یک توافق نهایی موافقت کرده که بر پایه آن حدود ۳۱۸ میلیون دلار به صدها قربانی تروریسم مورد حمایت جمهوری اسلامی پرداخت می‌شود.

به گفته مقام‌های آمریکایی، این پرونده به ساختمانی ۳۶ طبقه در خیابان پنجم منهتن مربوط بود که منافع پنهان بانک ملی ایران در آن، از طریق شرکت‌های پوششی، در جریان رسیدگی قضایی آشکار شد. دادستانی آمریکا گفت این دارایی‌ها سال‌ها پنهان شده بود و درآمد آن به بانک ملی ایران منتقل می‌شد.

بر اساس این توافق، ۱۲۹ میلیون دلار از مبلغ یادشده در اسفند ۱۴۰۴ پرداخت شده و ۱۸۹ میلیون دلار دیگر نیز همراه با بهره، ظرف سه سال آینده پرداخت خواهد شد. این پول به قربانیان و خانواده‌های آسیب‌دیدگان حملات مختلف، از جمله بمب‌گذاری ۱۹۸۳ در بیروت، حملات ۱۱ سپتامبر و حملات گروه‌های نیابتی جمهوری اسلامی در اسرائیل و دیگر نقاط، اختصاص می‌یابد.
