Donald Trump, the President of the United States, reiterated in his speech at a fundraising event for Republicans in Washington that the Islamic Republic is still seeking to reach an agreement through negotiations.

He said, "They are negotiating and they really want to reach an agreement, but they are afraid to say it because they think they will be killed by their own people."

The U.S. President added, "They are also afraid that we will kill them," and continued in a humorous tone that no one wants to take on the leadership of Iran right now because they might be assassinated by the United States, "I certainly don't want to."

This comes as officials from the Islamic Republic have repeatedly stated in recent hours that they have no intention of negotiating. A Pakistani official has also told the media that Iran's response to the U.S. 15-point proposal is likely to be negative.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, criticized the media coverage of the war in Iran, claiming that reports from American media present a "false" picture of the battlefield situation and that the U.S. is in a superior position in this conflict.

On the evening of Wednesday, March 25, local time, at a fundraising event for Republicans in Washington, he referred to a large amount of media content as "fake news" and added that if audiences pay attention to these reports, it is not surprising that they might think the U.S. is losing the war, while according to him, American forces are "destroying the opposing side."

Trump also claimed that even some media outlets that he said perform "better" describe America's performance as merely "acceptable," while he stated that the reality on the ground is beyond these assessments.

He continued by referring to Iran's military capabilities, saying, "They no longer have a navy, they have nothing," and reiterated that the image presented in the media is different from reality.

دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهروی ایالات متحده، در سخنرانی خود در مراسم جمع‌آوری کمک مالی برای جمهوری‌خواهان در واشینگتن بار دیگر تکرار کرد که جمهوری اسلامی همچنان به دنبال دستیابی به توافق از طریق مذاکره است.

او گفت: «آنها در حال مذاکره هستند و خیلی هم می‌خواهند به توافق برسند، اما از گفتنش می‌ترسند چون فکر می‌کنند توسط مردم خودشان کشته می‌شوند.»

رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا افزود: «آنها همچنین می‌ترسند که ما آنها را بکشیم» و در ادامه با لحنی طنزآمیز گفت اکنون هیچ‌کس تمایل ندارد رهبری ایران را بر عهده بگیرد، چون ممکن است توسط ایالات متحده ترور شود، «من که اصلا نمی‌خواهم».

این درحالی است که مقام‌های جمهوری اسلامی طی ساعات گذشته بارها اعلام کرده‌اند که قصد مذاکره ندارند. یک مقام پاکستانی نیز به رسانه‌ها گفته است که احتمالا پاسخ حکومت ایران به پیشنهاد ۱۵ بندی آمریکا منفی است.

ترامپ همچنین مدعی شد حتی برخی رسانه‌هایی که به گفته او «بهتر» عمل می‌کنند، عملکرد آمریکا را صرفا «قابل قبول» توصیف می‌کنند، در حالی که به گفته او واقعیت میدانی فراتر از این ارزیابی‌هاست.

او در ادامه با اشاره به توان نظامی ایران گفت: «آنها دیگر نیروی دریایی ندارند، هیچ‌چیز ندارند» و بار دیگر تاکید کرد که تصویر ارائه‌شده در رسانه‌ها با واقعیت متفاوت است.
