Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced in an interview with Fox News that the Central Intelligence Agency informed him that Mojtaba Khamenei is gay. In response to the host's question about whether the CIA had told him such a thing, he said: "Well, they said that, but I don't know if they were the only ones or not. I think a lot of people are saying this. It puts him in a bad position in that country."

Donald Trump emphasized in the interview with Fox News that severe repression and the use of weapons against citizens are the main reasons for the halt of protests in Iran. He also announced an extension of the negotiation deadline with Tehran, stating that at the request of Iranian officials, he had given them 10 days instead of seven.

In this interview, which aired on Thursday evening, April 6, Eastern Time, Trump referred to the internal situation in Iran, saying: "In my opinion, when you look at what has happened, people are terrified because one side has the weapons—and very dangerous weapons." He added: "People are brave, but when they see individuals being killed one after another... they can no longer protest."

Describing how government forces deal with protesters, he said: "The reason they don't protest is that they are shot at... they do this with snipers, from buildings." Trump emphasized that during the protests, "they shot women directly in the head" and added: "When you see people falling one after another... you run away. That's what happened."

The President of the United States also referred to the repression of critical figures and recalled the execution of Saleh Mohammadi, a wrestler who was executed on March 19 for participating in the protests in December, saying: "That wrestler... was a star... they killed him because he spoke out against the regime." Trump stressed, "Iran has great wrestlers, and he was one of the best, but they killed him."

In another part of his remarks, referring to the killing of leaders of the Islamic Republic in recent attacks, he emphasized that under such circumstances, "one could say a regime change has occurred because all the leaders have been killed."

Extension of the negotiation deadline with Tehran
Trump, in another part of his remarks, referred to the recent negotiations with the Iranian government and said that Iranian officials had requested more time from him. He explained: "They said, can you give us more time?... They had asked for seven days, and I gave them 10 days."

He added: "I said you have 10 days... and they were very grateful for that." Trump also emphasized that negotiations are still ongoing and "things are not going badly," although he expressed doubt about the final outcome.

دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، در گفت‌وگو با شبکه فاکس‌نیوز اعلام کرد سازمان اطلاعات مرکزی آمریکا به او اطلاع داده است که مجتبی خامنه‌ای همجنسگرا است.
او در پاسخ به پرسش مجری این شبکه، درباره اینکه آیا سیا چنین موضوعی را به او گفته است، گفت: «خب، آنها این را گفتند، اما نمی‌دانم فقط آنها بودند یا نه. فکر می‌کنم افراد زیادی این را می‌گویند. که او را در آن کشور در موقعیت بدی قرار می‌دهد.»

دونالد ترامپ در گفت‌وگو با شبکه فاکس‌نیوز تاکید کرد که سرکوب شدید و استفاده از سلاح علیه شهروندان، عامل اصلی توقف اعتراضات در ایران است. او همچنین از تمدید مهلت مذاکراتی با تهران خبر داد و گفت به درخواست مقام‌های ایرانی، به‌جای هفت روز، ۱۰ روز به آنها فرصت داده است.

ترامپ در این مصاحبه که عصر پنجشنبه ۶ فروردین به وقت شرق آمریکا پخش شد، با اشاره به وضعیت داخلی ایران گفت: «به نظر من، وقتی نگاه می‌کنید چه اتفاقی افتاده، مردم وحشت‌زده‌اند، چون یک طرف اسلحه دارد- و اسلحه‌های بسیار خطرناک دارد.» او افزود: «مردم شجاع هستند، اما وقتی می‌بینند افراد یکی پس از دیگری کشته می‌شوند… دیگر نمی‌توانند اعتراض کنند.»

او با توصیف نحوه برخورد نیروهای حکومتی با معترضان گفت: «دلیل اینکه اعتراض نمی‌کنند این است که به آنها شلیک می‌شود… این کار را با تک‌تیراندازها انجام می‌دهند، از ساختمان‌ها.» ترامپ تاکید کرد که در جریان اعتراضات، «زنان را مستقیم به سرشان شلیک کردند» و افزود: «وقتی می‌بینید افراد یکی پس از دیگری به زمین می‌افتند… فرار می‌کنید. همین اتفاق افتاد.»

رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا همچنین به سرکوب چهره‌های منتقد اشاره کرد و با یادآوری اعدام صالح محمدی، کشتی‌گیری که در ۲۸ اسفند ماه به دلیل شرکت در اعتراضات دی‌ماه اعدام شد، گفت: «آن کشتی‌گیر… یک ستاره بود… او را کشتند چون علیه رژیم صحبت کرد.» ترامپ تاکید کرد «ایران کشتی‌گیران بزرگی دارد و او یکی از بهترین‌ها بود، اما او را کشتند.»

او در بخش دیگری از سخنانش با اشاره به کشته‌شدن رهبران جمهوری اسلامی در حملات اخیر تاکید کرد در چنین شرایطی «می‌توان گفت تغییر رژیم رخ داده، چون همه رهبران کشته شده‌اند.»

تمدید مهلت مذاکره با تهران
ترامپ در بخش دیگری از سخنان خود به روند مذاکرات اخیر با حکومت ایران اشاره کرد و گفت مقام‌های ایرانی از او درخواست زمان بیشتر کرده‌اند. او توضیح داد: «آنها گفتند می‌شود زمان بیشتری بدهید؟… آنها هفت روز خواسته بودند، و من ۱۰ روز دادم.»

او افزود: «گفتم ۱۰ روز فرصت دارید… و آنها خیلی از این بابت تشکر کردند.» ترامپ در عین حال تاکید کرد که مذاکرات همچنان ادامه دارد و «اوضاع بد پیش نمی‌رود»، هرچند نسبت به نتیجه نهایی ابراز تردید کرد.
