The political and security deputy of the Central Province governor announced in an interview with Fars News Agency that the heavy water complex in Khondab, Arak was attacked in two phases.

This official stated that there were no casualties from this attack and that there is no threat to the local population.

Iranian media, citing the Atomic Energy Organization, reported that the yellowcake production plant in Ardakan, Yazd Province was also targeted in the airstrike.
The report mentioned that initial investigations showed no signs of radioactive material being released outside the complex.

After identifying efforts to rebuild: The Air Force targeted the heavy water plant in Arak; a key infrastructure for producing plutonium for nuclear weapons.

Heavy water is a unique substance used to operate nuclear reactors like the inactive Arak reactor; a reactor initially designed to have the capability to produce plutonium at a military level. This material is also used as a neutron source for nuclear weapons.

This plant was considered an important economic asset for the terrorist regime and served as a source of income for the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization. Its operation generated tens of millions of dollars in revenue for the regime each year.

Despite explicit international commitments, especially the nuclear agreement, the terrorist regime of Iran has systematically refrained from repurposing this reactor in a way that would prevent the production of plutonium at a military level, and had even deliberately ordered that this change not be completed.

آب سنگین ماده‌ای منحصربه‌فرد است که برای راه‌اندازی راکتورهای هسته‌ای مانند راکتور غیرفعال اراک استفاده می‌شود؛ راکتوری که در ابتدا برای داشتن قابلیت تولید پلوتونیوم در سطح نظامی طراحی شده بود. این مواد همچنین به‌عنوان منبع تولید نوترون برای سلاح هسته‌ای به کار می‌روند.

این کارخانه یک دارایی اقتصادی مهم برای رژیم تروریستی محسوب می‌شد و به‌عنوان منبع درآمدی برای سازمان انرژی اتمی ایران عمل می‌کرد. فعالیت آن هر سال ده‌ها میلیون دلار درآمد برای رژیم ایجاد می‌کرد.

با وجود تعهدات صریح بین‌المللی، به‌ویژه توافق هسته‌ای، رژیم تروریستی ایران به‌طور سیستماتیک از تغییر کاربری این راکتور به‌گونه‌ای که امکان تولید پلوتونیوم در سطح نظامی نداشته باشد، خودداری کرده و حتی عمداً دستور داده بود که این تغییر تکمیل نشود.
