Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of Britain, said on Wednesday, April 1st, that the military operations of the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic are not a war related to this country, and Britain will not be drawn into it.
He stated that the country will host an international meeting at the end of the week to discuss the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz: "We have contacted 35 countries to hold a meeting about reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and we will come together to examine diplomatic tools, political tools, and then military planning."
The British Prime Minister mentioned that there is a five-point plan to resolve the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, and a new meeting with European partners will be held in the coming weeks.
According to Starmer, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has been the most effective defense alliance to date, and Britain is committed to this organization and treaty.
In response to criticisms from Donald Trump, the President of the United States, regarding NATO and the possibility of the United States withdrawing from this treaty, he said: "Regardless of any pressure on me and others, I will act in the interests of Britain's national security."

کییر استارمر، نخستوزیر بریتانیا، چهارشنبه ۱۲ فروردین گفت که عملیات نظامی آمریکا و اسرائیل علیه جمهوری اسلامی، جنگی مربوط به این کشور نیست و بریتانیا به آن کشیده نخواهد شد.
او گفت که این کشور در پایان هفته، میزبان نشستی بینالمللی برای بررسی بازگشایی تنگه هرمز خواهد بود: «ما با ۳۵ کشور برای برگزاری نشست درباره بازگشایی تنگه هرمز تماس گرفتهایم و بهمنظور بررسی ابزارهای دیپلماتیک، ابزارهای سیاسی و سپس برنامهریزی نظامی، گرد هم میآییم»
نخستوزیر بریتانیا گفت که یک طرح پنج مادهای برای حل بحران تنگه هرمز وجود دارد و در هفتههای آینده، نشست جدیدی با شرکای اروپایی برگزار خواهد شد.
به گفته استارمر، سازمان پیمان نظامی آتلانتیک شمالی (ناتو)، موثرترین پیمان دفاعی تاکنون بوده و بریتانیا به این سازمان و پیمان متعهد است.
او در واکنش به انتقادات دونالد ترامپ، رییسجمهوری آمریکا، از ناتو و احتمال خروج ایالات متحده از این پیمان، گفت: «فارغ از هر فشاری بر من و دیگران، در راستای منافع ملی بریتانیا عمل خواهم کرد.»
