Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated in an interview with the British newspaper Daily Telegraph that after the lack of support from allies for the U.S. military action against Iran, he is "seriously considering withdrawing the U.S. from NATO."

According to Reuters, he described the NATO alliance as a "paper tiger" and mentioned that the issue of the United States' exit from the defense pact is now "beyond review."

According to the report, Mr. Trump said: "I was never influenced by NATO. I always knew they were a paper tiger, and Putin (Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia) knows this too."

دونالد ترامپ رئیس‌جمهور آمریکا در مصاحبه‌ای با روزنامه دیلی تلگراف بریتانیا، اعلام کرد که پس از عدم حمایت متحدان از اقدام نظامی آمریکا علیه ایران، «به‌طور جدی در حال بررسی خروج آمریکا از ناتو است.»

طبق این گزارش، آقای ترامپ گفته است: «من هرگز تحت تأثیر ناتو قرار نگرفتم. همیشه می‌دانستم آن‌ها یک ببر کاغذی هستند و پوتین (ولادیمیر پوتین رئیس‌جمهور روسیه) هم این را می‌داند».
