❌ The Iranian media video does not show the interception and downing of an F-16

🔹 The IRGC and Iranian media claim to have targeted "an advanced enemy fighter"; however, the video released does not show the interception of the fighter.

🔹 In the video, a passive short-range infrared defense system of the army/IRGC attempts to lock onto an F-16CM/CJ Fighting Falcon of the U.S. Air Force, which is conducting operations at low altitude over southern Iran, and fires a missile at it.

🔹 Subsequently, the pilot of this fighter breaks the lock with maneuvers such as deploying flares and engaging afterburners, escaping the danger, and the defense system fails to launch the missile.

🔹 What appears to be an explosion in the video is actually the fighter's use of flares and afterburners, not a missile hit or explosion.

🔹 Therefore, based on the analysis of this video, Factnameh indicates that the claims made by the IRGC and these media are "incorrect."

🔹سپاه و رسانه‌های ایران می‌گویند «یک جنگنده پیشرفته دشمن» را هدف قرار داده‌اند؛ اما ویدیویی که در این‌باره منتشر شده، رهگیری جنگنده را نشان نمی‌دهد.

🔹در ویدیو، یک سامانه پدافندی مادون قرمز غیر فعال (passive) کوتاه‌برد ارتش/سپاه قصد دارد روی یک فروند جنگنده F-16CM/CJ فایتینگ فالکن نیروی هوایی آمریکا که در حال انجام عملیات در ارتفاع پایین و بر فراز جنوب ایران است، قفل و به سمت آن موشک شلیک کند.

🔹در ادامه، خلبان این جنگنده با اقداماتی چون پرتاب فِلِر و روشن کردن پس‌سوز، قفل را می‌شکند و از مهلکه خارج می‌شود و سامانه پدافندی موفق به شلیک موشک نمی‌شود.

🔹آنچه در ویدیو شبیه انفجار دیده می‌شود، استفاده جنگنده از فلر و پس‌سوز است، نه اصابت یا انفجار موشک.

🔹بنابراین بر اساس بررسی این ویدیو، فکت‌نامه به ادعای سپاه و این رسانه‌ها نشان «نادرست» می‌دهد.
