Axios reported, citing four sources, that the United States, the Islamic Republic, and a group of regional mediators are discussing the terms of a potential 45-day ceasefire that could lead to a permanent end to the war. Axios added, according to these American, Israeli, and regional sources: "The chances of reaching a partial agreement in the next 48 hours are low. However, this last effort is the only opportunity to prevent a significant escalation of the war, which would include widespread attacks on Iran's civilian infrastructure and retaliation against energy and water facilities in Gulf countries."

Four informed sources stated that negotiations are being conducted through mediators from Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey, as well as through written messages exchanged between Steve Witkoff, Trump's envoy, and Abbas Araghchi, the Islamic Republic's foreign minister.

These sources indicated that the mediators are negotiating with the parties regarding the terms of a two-phase agreement. The first phase would be a potential 45-day ceasefire during which negotiations for a permanent end to the war would take place.

One source mentioned that if more time is needed for negotiations, the ceasefire could be extended. The second phase would involve an agreement on ending the war.

سایت آکسیوس به نقل از چهار منبع نوشت آمریکا، جمهوری اسلامی و گروهی از میانجی‌گران منطقه‌ای در حال بحث در مورد شرایط آتش‌بس احتمالی ۴۵ روزه هستند که می‌تواند به پایان دائمی جنگ منجر شود.
آکسیوس به نقل از این منابع آمریکایی، اسرائیلی و منطقه‌ای افزود: «شانس دست‌یابی به یک توافق جزیی در ۴۸ ساعت آینده کم است. اما این آخرین تلاش، تنها فرصت برای جلوگیری از تشدید چشمگیر جنگ است که شامل حملات گسترده به زیرساخت‌های غیرنظامی ایران و تلافی علیه تأسیسات انرژی و آب در کشورهای خلیج فارس خواهد بود.»
چهار منبع آگاه گفتند که مذاکرات از طریق میانجی‌گران پاکستان، مصر و ترکیه و همچنین از طریق پیام‌های کتبی ارسال شده بین استیو ویتکاف، فرستاده ترامپ و عباس عراقچی، وزیر خارجه جمهوری اسلامی، در حال انجام است.
این منابع گفتند که میانجی‌گران در حال مذاکره با طرفین در مورد شرایط توافق دو مرحله‌ای هستند. مرحله اول، یک آتش‌بس بالقوه ۴۵ روزه خواهد بود که طی آن برای پایان دائمی جنگ مذاکره خواهد شد.
یکی از منابع گفت که در صورت نیاز به زمان بیشتر برای مذاکرات، آتش‌بس می‌تواند تمدید شود. مرحله دوم، توافق بر سر پایان جنگ خواهد بود.
