Sharif University of Technology in Tehran was targeted in an attack early on Monday, April 6. The university president later stated, without providing details, that "an academic institution" of the university was the target of this attack and parts of the building were damaged.
Earlier, media reports indicated that the gas post of Sharif University was hit by a projectile and the gas supply in the area was cut off, but it was announced a few hours later that the gas flow had been restored.

Mohammad Reza Aref, the first vice president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, claimed in a message on X on Monday morning that Sharif University of Technology (Aryamehr) in Tehran was targeted with a bunker-busting bomb that day.

In this message, Aref wrote: "The attack with a bunker-busting bomb on Sharif University is a symbol of Trump's madness and ignorance. He does not understand that Iran's knowledge is not in concrete to be destroyed by a bomb; the real stronghold is the will of our professors and elites."

At the same time, the Fars news agency reported that during the attack on Sharif University, "the university's data center was hit. This center was the infrastructure for the country's artificial intelligence platform and thousands of other services."

دانشگاه صنعتی شریف در تهران بامداد دوشنبه ۱۷ فروردین هدف حمله قرار گرفت. رئیس دانشگاه ساعاتی بعد بدون اشاره به جزئیات گفت که «یک نهاد علمی» این دانشگاه هدف این حمله بوده و بخش‌هایی از ساختمان آسیب دیده است.
رسانه‌های پیش از این خبر داده بودند که پست گاز دانشگاه شریف مورد اصابت پرتابه قرار گرفته و گاز منطقه قطع شده اما ساعاتی بعد اعلام شد که جریان گاز برقرار شده است.

محمدرضا عارف، معاون اول رئیس جمهوری اسلامی ایران صبح دوشنبه با انتشار پیامی در اکس، ادعا کرد که دانشگاه صنعتی شریف (آریامهر) تهران بامداد این روز با بمب سنگرشکن هدف قرار گرفته است.

عارف در این پیام نوشت: «حمله با بمب سنگرشکن به دانشگاه شریف، نماد جنون و جهل ترامپ است. او نمی‌فهمد که دانش ایران در بتن نیست تا با بمب تخریب شود؛ سنگر واقعی، اراده اساتید و نخبگان ماست.»

همزمان خبرگزاری فارس گزارش کرد در جریان حمله به دانشگاه شریف، «مرکز داده این دانشگاه مورد اصابت قرار گرفت. این مرکز، زیرساخت پلتفرم هوش مصنوعی کشور و هزاران سرویس دیگر بود.»
