Israel Katz, the Israeli Defense Minister, announced that the country has attacked the South Pars petrochemical facilities in Assaluyeh, Iran. Katz stated on Monday, April 6, that Israel "recently carried out a powerful attack against the largest petrochemical complex in Iran, located in Assaluyeh, which is a central target and responsible for about 50% of the country's petrochemical production."
Earlier, an attack in late March on the South Pars facilities had led to widespread attacks by the Islamic Republic against oil and gas infrastructure in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.

Meanwhile, Fars News Agency reported hearing several explosions at the South Pars petrochemical complex and announced that some storage facilities and gas-related infrastructure have been targeted. According to Tasnim News Agency, the facilities supplying electricity, water, and oxygen in Assaluyeh have been attacked, resulting in power outages for some petrochemical units, although this media outlet emphasized that the petrochemical company itself has not suffered direct damage.

کاتس روز دوشنبه ۱۷ فروردین گفت اسرائیل «بهتازگی یک حمله قدرتمند علیه بزرگترین مجتمع پتروشیمی ایران، واقع در عسلویه، که هدفی مرکزی و مسئول حدود ۵۰ درصد از تولید پتروشیمی کشور است، انجام داده است.»
پیشتر یک حمله در اواخر اسفندبه تأسیسات پارس جنوبی باعث حملات گسترده جمهوری اسلامی علیه زیرساختهای نفت و گاز در کشورهای عربی حوزه خلیج فارس شده بود.

در همین حال، خبرگزاری فارس از شنیده شدن چندین انفجار در مجتمع پتروشیمی پارس جنوبی خبر داده و اعلام کرده که برخی تاسیسات ذخیرهسازی و زیرساختهای مرتبط با گاز هدف قرار گرفتهاند.
بر اساس گزارش تسنیم، تاسیسات تامینکننده برق، آب و اکسیژن در عسلویه مورد حمله قرار گرفتهاند و در پی آن، برق برخی واحدهای پتروشیمی قطع شده است، هرچند این رسانه تاکید کرده که خود شرکت پتروشیمی پارس دچار آسیب مستقیم نشده است.
