The New York Times reported, citing two unnamed senior Iranian officials, about the ceasefire negotiations, stating that the Islamic Republic's response to the U.S. proposal includes guarantees against future attacks on Iranian regime positions, an end to Israeli attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the lifting of all sanctions.

According to the newspaper, in return, Iran will lift the practical blockade of the key shipping route in the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, Iran will impose fees of around $2 million for each ship, which will be shared with Oman, located on the other side of the strait.

Under this plan, Iran will use its share of these revenues to rebuild infrastructure destroyed by U.S. and Israeli attacks instead of demanding direct compensation.

روزنامه نیویورک تایمز به نقل از دو مقام ارشد ایرانی که نامشان فاش نشده درباره مذاکرات آتش بس نوشت که پاسخ جمهوری اسلامی به پیشنهاد آمریکا شامل تضمینی برای تکرار نشدن حمله علیه مواضع رژیم ایران، پایان دادن به حملات اسرائیل علیه حزب‌الله در لبنان و لغو تمامی تحریم‌ها است.
به نوشته این روزنامه، در مقابل، ایران محاصره عملی مسیر کلیدی کشتیرانی در تنگه هرمز را لغو خواهد کرد.
همچنین ایران عوارضی در حدود ۲ میلیون دلار برای هر کشتی وضع می‌کند که آن را با عمان، که در آن سوی تنگه قرار دارد، تقسیم خواهد کرد.
بر اساس این طرح، ایران سهم خود از این درآمدها را به جای درخواست غرامت مستقیم، صرف بازسازی زیرساخت‌های تخریب شده توسط حملات آمریکا و اسرائیل خواهد کرد.
