♦️Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, confirmed the release of American journalist Shelly Kittleson; she had been kidnapped a week ago by Iran-backed Kata'ib Hezbollah militants in Iraq.
Rubio stated, "The U.S. Department of State appreciates the cooperation of the FBI, the Department of Defense, American personnel in several agencies, the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, and our Iraqi partners in helping to secure her release."
He continued, "This success demonstrates the Trump administration's enduring commitment to the safety and security of American citizens, regardless of where they are in the world. We are pleased that this American citizen is now free and are working to safely extract her from Iraq."
