Following reports of explosions in the islands of Lavan and Siri, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company has confirmed the attack on the Lavan refinery in a statement.
The statement from the company reads: "Around 10 AM today, Wednesday, the facilities of the Lavan oil refinery located on Lavan Island were subjected to a cowardly attack by enemies."
According to this statement, "safety and firefighting teams are currently controlling and extinguishing the fire and securing the facilities."
The Mehr News Agency had previously reported several explosions in the two islands of Lavan and Siri in the Persian Gulf.
These explosions occurred while Iran and the United States agreed last night on a conditional two-week ceasefire.

در پی انتشار گزارش‌هایی درباره وقوع انفجار در جزایر لاوان و سیری، شرکت ملی پالایش و پخش فرآورده‌های نفتی ایران در اطلاعیه ای حمله به پالایشگاه لاوان را تایید کرده است.
در اطلاعیه این شرکت آمده: «حوالی ساعت ۱۰ صبح امروز چهارشنبه، تاسیسات پالایشگاه نفت لاوان واقع در جزیره لاوان مورد تهاجم ناجوانمردانه دشمنان قرار گرفت.»
بنابر این اطلاعیه، «گروه‌های ایمنی و آتش‌نشانی در حال کنترل و اطفای آتش و ایمن‌سازی تاسیسات هستند.»
خبرگزاری مهر پیشتر در گزارشی از وقوع چند انفجار در دو جزیره لاوان و سیری در خلیج فارس خبر داده بود.
این انفجارها در حالی رخ داده که ایران و آمریکا دیشب بر سر یک آتش‌بس مشروط دو هفته‌ای توافق کردند.
