Jonathan Karl, senior reporter for NBC News, wrote on Wednesday, April 8, that "this morning I asked President Trump if he agrees that Iran should charge fees for all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz."
He says Mr. Trump stated that "the U.S. and Iran may pursue a joint plan for collecting fees."
The President of the United States remarked: "We are thinking about doing it jointly. This is a way to ensure the security of that [Strait of Hormuz] and also to protect it from many other things."
Mr. Trump said that "it's a beautiful thing."
