On Wednesday, the Islamic Republic publicly released what it called a "10-point framework for negotiations"; a text that Donald Trump described as a "practical basis for negotiation" to end the war. However, a large part of this proposal includes maximalist demands that seem very difficult, if not impossible, to align with U.S. objectives.

In response to this, a White House official, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the materials Iran published differ from what President Trump had seen.

The proposed version from the Islamic Republic, released the morning after the agreement on a two-week ceasefire, emphasizes the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region, insists on Iran's control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, and maintains the right to nuclear enrichment. This comes as many of these clauses directly contradict the 15-point plan that American mediators had drafted last month.

نسخه پیشنهادی جمهوری اسلامی که صبح روز پس از توافق بر سر آتش‌بس دوهفته‌ای منتشر شد، بر خروج نیروهای آمریکایی از منطقه، تاکید بر کنترل ایران بر تنگه راهبردی هرمز و حفظ حق غنی‌سازی هسته‌ای اصرار دارد. این در حالی است که بسیاری از این بندها با طرح ۱۵ ماده‌ای که میانجی‌گران آمریکایی ماه گذشته تدوین کرده بودند، در تضاد مستقیم قرار دارد.
