The Islamic Republic has rejected the United States' claim that two of its naval destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz.

Fars News Agency, close to the IRGC, quoted the spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic as saying: "The claim by the CENTCOM commander regarding the approach and entry of American vessels into the Strait of Hormuz is categorically denied." He stated: "The initiative for the passage of any vessel lies with the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Earlier, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a message on the social media platform X that American forces "are preparing conditions for mine clearance in the Strait of Hormuz," and that two vessels "passed through the Strait of Hormuz as part of a broader mission to ensure this waterway is free of naval mines."

جمهوری اسلامی ادعای آمریکا مبنی بر عبور دو ناوشکن نیروی دریایی آن کشور از تنگه هرمز را رد کرده است.

خبرگزاری فارس، نزدیک به سپاه، به نقل از سخنگوی ستاد کل نیروهای مسلح جمهوری اسلامی گزارش داد: «ادعای فرمانده سنتکام درباره نزدیک شدن و ورود شناورهای آمریکایی به تنگه هرمز به‌طور قاطع رد می‌شود.»
او می‌گوید: «ابتکار عمل برای عبور هر شناوری در اختیار نیروهای مسلح جمهوری اسلامی ایران است.»

پیش‌تر، فرماندهی مرکزی آمریکا (سنتکام) در پیامی در شبکه اجتماعی ایکس اعلام کرده بود که نیروهای آمریکایی «در حال فراهم کردن شرایط برای پاک‌سازی مین‌ها در تنگه هرمز» هستند و دو شناور «در چارچوب ماموریتی گسترده‌تر برای اطمینان از پاک بودن این آبراه از مین‌های دریایی، از تنگه هرمز عبور کرده‌اند.»
