Donald Trump, the President of the United States, on Sunday, April 23, defended the U.S. military intervention in Iran during an interview with Fox News, stating that the main goal of this action was to prevent the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear weapons.

In response to a question about why the U.S. entered the conflicts, he said, "The simplest answer is that they should not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons." Trump claimed that Iran has the infrastructure and materials necessary to produce nuclear weapons and could have achieved this "within a month" without intervention.

Trump also mentioned U.S. attacks, stating that B-2 bombers targeted and "completely destroyed" the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities. He considered this operation to be the main factor in preventing the advancement of the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.

The President of the United States further stated that Iran had previously attacked several regional countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain, and had fired about "1,800 missiles" at the UAE.

دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا، روز یکشنبه ۲۳ فروردین در گفتگو با فاکس‌نیوز، با دفاع از مداخله نظامی ایالات متحده در ایران، گفت: هدف اصلی این اقدام جلوگیری از دستیابی جمهوری اسلامی به سلاح هسته‌ای بوده است.
او در پاسخ به پرسشی درباره چرایی ورود آمریکا به درگیری‌ها گفت: «ساده‌ترین پاسخ این است که آن‌ها نباید به سلاح هسته‌ای دست پیدا کنند.» ترامپ ادعا کرد ایران دارای زیرساخت و مواد لازم برای تولید سلاح هسته‌ای بوده و در صورت عدم مداخله، می‌توانست «ظرف یک ماه» به این سلاح دست یابد.
ترامپ همچنین با اشاره به حملات آمریکا گفت که بمب‌افکن‌های (B-2) تاسیسات هسته‌ای جمهوری اسلامی را هدف قرار داده و «به‌طور کامل نابود کرده‌اند». او این عملیات را عامل اصلی جلوگیری از پیشرفت برنامه هسته‌ای جمهوری اسلامی دانست.
رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا در ادامه گفت ایران پیش از این به چند کشور منطقه از جمله امارات، عربستان سعودی، قطر و بحرین حمله کرده و حدود «۱۸۰۰ موشک» به امارات شلیک کرده است.
