Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, reacted to the recent threats from the United States regarding a maritime blockade, which were made just a day after negotiations in Islamabad. He stated that the Iranian nation has proven over the past 47 years that it does not succumb to military pressure and sanctions.
Qalibaf described the enemy as "desperate," asserting that "such rhetoric is ineffective, and the world has witnessed Iran's resilience firsthand." He warned Washington, saying, "If you come with logic, we will respond with logic, but if you fight, we will fight." He emphasized that the Islamic Republic will not yield to any threats and cautioned the U.S. not to test the "will of the nation," as a "greater lesson" will be taught to them.
These remarks come at a time when, in a war that lasted over a month, the Islamic Republic lost a significant portion of its military infrastructure, with key facilities such as steel factories in Ahvaz and Isfahan and refineries in Khuzestan and Fars province being targeted, which are far from being rebuilt.

محمدباقر قالیباف، رئیس مجلس شورای اسلامی در واکنش به تهدیدهای اخیر آمریکا مبنی بر محاصره دریایی که یکروز پس از مذاکرات اسلامآباد مطرح شد، گفت که ملت ایران در ۴۷ سال گذشته ثابت کرده است که با فشار نظامی و تحریم تسلیم نمیشود.
قالیباف با «مستاصل» خواندن دشمن، اظهار داشت که «این قبیل لفاظیها فاقد اثر بوده و دنیا استقامت ایران را به چشم خود دیده است».
او با هشدار به واشنگتن گفت: «اگر با منطق جلو بیایید با منطق برخورد میکنیم، اما اگر بجنگید، میجنگیم.»
او تاکید کرد که جمهوری اسلامی زیر بار هیچ تهدیدی نمیرود و به آمریکا هشدار داد که «اراده ملت» را امتحان نکند، چرا که «درس بزرگتری» به آنها داده خواهد شد.
این اظهارات در حالی مطرح میشود که در جنگی که بیش از یک ماه طول کشید، جمهوری اسلامی بخش عمدهای از زیرساختهای نظامی خود را از دست داد و تاسیسات مهمی چون کارخانجات فولاد در اهواز و اصفهان و پالایشگاههایی در خوزستان و استان فارس هدف قرار گرفتند که تا بازسازی فاصله زیادی دارند.
