He did not provide details or explanations, stating that "those who needed to contact us did so this morning."

Donald Trump referred to JD Vance, his deputy, who spent hours negotiating with the Iranian side in Pakistan but ultimately could not reach an agreement, saying that Vance "did a great job regarding Iran." However, according to the U.S. President, Iran ultimately "did not agree to not have a nuclear weapon."

Trump also emphasized that "we cannot allow one country to extort others."

دونالد ترامپ، رئیس جمهور آمریکا، روز دوشنبه در گفت‌وگو با خبرنگاران در حیاط کاخ سفید خبر داد که ایرانی‌ها با آمریکا «تماس گرفتند و خیلی دوست دارند توافق کنند».
او بدون توضیح و ارائه جزئیات گفت که «کسانی که باید امروز صبح با ما تماس گرفتند».
دونالد ترامپ با اشاره به جی‌دی ونس، معاون خود، که در پاکستان با طرف ایرانی ساعت‌ها به مذاکره نشست، اما درنهایت نتوانست به توافق برسد گفت که ونس «کارش را در مورد ایران خیلی خوب انجام داد».
با این حال، به گفته رئیس جمهور آمریکا، ایران درنهایت «رضایت نداد که سلاح اتمی نداشته باشد».
