Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, emphasized that Iran has not reached a new agreement with the United States, and the temporary and conditional opening of the Strait of Hormuz is based on the ceasefire agreement of April 8.

He stated shortly after Mr. Trump said that the maritime blockade of Iran would continue: "If the other side intends to breach the agreement, which it apparently wants to do, and if the maritime blockade continues, the Islamic Republic of Iran will take necessary reciprocal actions, and there is no doubt about that."

Baqaei explained: "Traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is based on the ceasefire agreement of April 8. Iran pursued the ceasefire in Lebanon to also be based on the April 8 agreement; the ceasefire occurred last night. A lot of effort was made from various sides for this issue. Therefore, it was decided that the part related to Iran's commitments—which I reiterate is nothing new and is the implementation of the same commitment from April 8—will be carried out."

اسماعیل بقایی، سخنگوی وزارت خارجه جمهوری اسلامی تاکید کرد که ایران توافق جدیدی با آمریکا نداشته و باز شدن موقت و مشروط تنگه هرمز بر مبنای تفاهم آتش‌بس ۱۹ فروردین بوده است.

او ساعتی پس از اینکه آقای ترامپ گفت که محاصره دریایی ایران ادامه خواهد داشت،‌ گفت: «اگر طرف مقابل بنای بر بدعهدی بگذارد که ظاهرا می‌خواهد بدعهدی کند و اگر محاصره دریایی ادامه یابد، جمهوری اسلامی ایران متقابلا اقدامات لازم را انجام خواهد داد و در این تردیدی نیست.»

بقایی توضیح داد: «تردد در تنگه هرمز بر مبنای تفاهم آتش بس ۱۹ فروردین انجام می‌شود ایران پیگیری کرد تا آتش بس در لبنان نیز بر مبنای تفاهم ۱۹ فروردین انجام شود؛ آتش بس شب گذشته اتفاق افتاد. تلاش بسیار زیادی از جوانب مختلف برای این موضوع صورت گرفت. بنابراین قرار شد که بخش مربوط به تعهدات ایران -که باز تاکید می‌کنم چیز جدیدی نیست و اجرای همان تعهد ۱۹ فروردین است- انجام شود.»
